Staying at an Airbnb close by, my wife and I were trying to find a good bar in the area to have a few drinks. A couple came up with a quick internet search but they all looked like a chain or a restaurant with a bar. Then I came across Twelve Benâs Tavern. No photos of the inside but all the reviews mentioned good food and an atmosphere of a bygone era. The reviews did not disappoint. Once we opened the door we knew we were at a a good place. Wraparound bar, lots of old men sitting around, drinking and laughing. The bartender was friendly and welcomed us right away. Had a few drinks and a good chat with him through the night that made our trip that much better. We left feeling very grateful and with a desire to come back as many times as possible. Cannot say enough good things about Michael, the owner and bartender who charmed us completely, providing stories and laughs throughout the duration of our visit alongside excellent service. Classic âcheersâ experience without the tacky commercialism. Would highly recommend to anyone...
