I honestly have to say I wasn’t expecting to give 5 stars at a pizza place that has been around me all my life and was there way before the renovations. I hadn’t been there really before the renovations and my view of the restaurant was based on the old one but it had the SAME name so I never went to try it again. Especially considering the neighborhood was somewhat bad for awhile(and still is). But seriously, they have done a lot and it shows especially in their food. The mashed potato pizza I got was delicious. My only complaint is the customer service, they lack workers so it’s hard for them to tend to customers especially if their working on a detailed order at the moment. They are all well trained though and watch the food the entire time and once they complete the task to their perfection then they help you. I think if they just find a good cashier it would help immensely instead of a cook as I saw their job posting and the hours weren’t that great only amounted to ~31 hours a week. Lastly, it was a warm day but it was way too cold in the lobby. I suggest bringing...
Read moreHad driven by this place a few times on my way home from work and the exterior had caught my attention. Always on the lookout for a go to pizza spot and I’m glad I was able to finally go in.
After reading some of the reviews I was quickly able to see why some people had given it low ratings. These were people with limited understanding of what good pizza entails. When something is good, the last thing you do is water it down. In this case, thin crust pizza should be limited to 1-2 toppings MAX. My preference is always to just eat a plain cheese or margarita to get a true idea of the quality of the base ingredients
We had two slices of cheese ($5 each) but huge. The slice held its form and did not flop. It was crispy, tasty, and not too greasy. My only complaint would be that the sauce lacked tang and flavor but it will still a great slice.
Boston does not have many legit pizza spots and pales in comparison to NYC, New Haven, and many other east coast cities. Venice pizza is close to that NYC level and I can see them getting to it with a couple more adjustments. I’ll...
Read moreI hesitated to order from here because I didn't want to be disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised by the two sandwiches I ordered. I got the American Combo one day with added hots, pickles, & onions (5/5) - I'm grateful for the brick cheese crisp (chef's kiss). I also tried the Steak & Cheese (5/5) - I was a little skeptical because I've never tried Alabama white sauce before but it was a great addition.
I definitely won't be ordering the tenders or fries here again. The tenders (3/5) had a very thin batter and didn't hold on to the chicken well and they weren't crispy. Their buffalo sauce was homemade. It was alright but not at all what comes to mind when you think of buffalo sauce (Frank's Red Hot + Butter). The ranch however is very good!
The spicy fries (3/5) are not what I think of when I say I want fries. They're short and thick as well as too fluffy and not very crispy. I look forward to trying their...
