I’ve been wanting to visit for a while. I think I was expecting more of a formalized house museum. It wasn’t a real tour. The care taker lives there and we were directed to stay in one room. The rooms don’t even mimic what it would have looked like in the past. The ‘tour’ didn’t really have a good flow to it. There is so much potential with this house museum, but it really missed the mark. Glad I got to see the inside but was hoping for more of a historical interaction. I felt more like an intruder to someone’s private Sunday afternoon leisure time.
Only open one Sunday a month. No signage. Donations requested in a jar, but never verbally communicated. Had to knock to be let into the locked front door.
