We had takeout because I forgot my vaccine cards and I stupidly had not put them on my phone. Glad they asked for proof of vaccines for the next time. They had a big choice of high-quality pastries. I has the pumpkin nut chocolate chip bread. Generous size, moist, and a great combination of flavors. Totally delicious and would have it again. My adult daughter had the chocolate berry muffin, which she loved, too. It was actually gluten-free, something she does not need, and it was as delicious as the recommendation said--for those who do not need gluten-free food, it tasted as good as any gluten product. We had pumpkin spice lattes, which were rich, just right. I drink a LOT of coffee, and I will definitely patronize them again. Service was cheerful and very helpful. We were able to find free parking right in front, but the walking is pleasant if you have to park a little further away....

I love the food and coffee here, but feel that the staff could be nicer. I was there 15 minutes before close to order a salad to go, and was told no, I could not order a salad because they just did the dishes. I understand closing a kitchen when customers coming in right before closing can be hard, I've worked in food service. But they can either pay the employees to break down the kitchen after they close, or provide signage that says you can't order a salad after a certain time. I was not dining in. The to-go salad containers are plastic, and I can't imagine they would have to use a ton of dishes to make one salad. I messaged them about it on their Facebook page and got no response, that was weeks ago. Super bummed. I rushed to get there before close, and was never provided a logical explanation and then...

Gave this place a shot on a wet Monday morning before heading to St. Edwards Park for a Sunday Stroll with my significant other.

We ordered two drinks, and two pastries - one to be warmed up and the other cold. We got our drinks and waited about 10 minutes - after we were about halfway done with our drinks I checked and was surprised to see the food was not ready. No big deal - I mentioned it to the lady working the register (not the same person who took my order) and she got right to it without any questions OR any accountability. Long story short - we ended up taking the pastries to go, by the time they were ready we were through with our drinks.

I regularly hit Ladro every weekend before bike rides with my friends, but thought I'd try SG because I've heard good things....
