My family and I went out to eat at Spartas in Bothell on Tuesday after swimming at mcmenamins. Its our tradition to go out to eat there after as our daughter loves the pasta. Although this i was very disappointed and it was more stressful than anything and I just wanted to leave. I do believe our server might have been new im not sure but she also was the only one we saw taking all the tables so she should have had help. She at first brought us a lemonade ny daughter ordered with the kids meal but was brought in a glass which is fine I did state it should be a kids one as it comes with the meal but she can drink it still that's fine. Next my daughters bread was forgotten which is a mistake as well but still it happens. Then my husband took our daughter to the bathroom our server brought our try for the pizza I believe or her bread i cant remember but we had our salads on the table and her hair went in both of ours while leaning over the table. She was attending to multiple tables and I get it but really should be more cautious. My husband came back and I told him not to eat the rest and told him why he wasnt surprised as her hair was extremely long and just hanging over her front shoulders. Then the bill came I had to walk up and have the lemonade taken off and handed her the bill and my card. I went to the bathroom came back and I believe it might have been her supervisor that had to take it off but she handed my bill back without my card. I had to walk back up and said I gave her my card as well. She then looked and was like oh yeah here it is. I mean that made me upset. I was then packing up our pizza so we could go our other daughter was getting fussy and I needed to change her diaper. Which there are no changing tables in the bathroom as well. Usually we have a very good experience when we go but this time was just not that great and after just having a baby and going out to dinner with the family. I was very disappointed. If she was new they shouldn't have had her serving everyone. We come to this location all the time and this was just an all around overwhelming and...

I've been eating at Sparta's since the original Lynnwood location opened in half the building it currently occupies, so let me say the quality of service, food and pricing has gone well below its offerings of 7 years ago with new management in steady decline. I was there on Mother's Day with my wife and son, had a long wait to get a table with tables obviously open, received another long wait as the apparent manager gave a long family history of her mother's work at Amtrak to a neighboring table. That table was embarrassed by the length of the conversation and apologized for the delay. Then, after ordering our food, the next wait began. The soup requested was out, water on the table came late, with even later refills, a coupon on the website was in question, and no reply. The food, when served, was half-portioned based on the experienced knowledge of the establishment for decades and generations. The cheese, typically stringy and thick, was thin and waxy. The slice of toasted bread was wet and soggy as the "butter" had been added after it had sat and gone cold. The lasagna was two layers of noodles and a thin cheese that didn't approach filling the dish it was served in, the pizza was half of what it was in the past, with an enormous price increase. Instead of a menu price for the #15 pizza, a large pizza standard charge for each topping added was on the bill.
I absolutely adore the original ownership and can only imagine the sadness the woman who built the Bothell restaurant's rep would feel at the sight and experience we had. I hope they have some input over the new generation. It was poor service, barely chain-quality pizza, and all overpriced. After eating at Sparta's since 1978, this and other recent experiences brings the relationship to an end. To the original owner, we miss you and the...
Read moreVisited on March 20, 2021 @ 1pm. First time visiting to this local restaurant after reading the reviews. Ordered- No.32 Medium pizza from the menu. Pizza was yummy 😋 but too much of cheese and very less chicken. Italian specialty- Chicken casserole with Garlic bread, and soup. I asked what type of soup, server (girl with colored hair) said it’s a chicken soup. After placing order, 10 minutes later she says we don’t have this variety and she can get another chicken soup. I checked the soup and the meat looked weird. Waited for 10 minutes and called the server, she checked with the cook and it’s a sausage soup. It was so frustrating, we don’t eat Pig and cows. I told her to take it away. She got us a salad after 10 minutes. The casserole was bland and tasteless.
Customer service- horrible- 0/5. The server doesn’t know the soups, was not sorry for delaying our order, did not bring the garlic bread. We waited for another 20 minutes. Called another guy for the garlic bread.
Well, I love supporting local restaurants and buisness. But very unhappy with the service I got from this place.
PS- the server was providing fast service for other tables and not for us? Not...
