I came here 2 weeks ago after the Boulder City Car Show. I made sure I came early because the last few times I came during any event in Boulder City , they are always out of the Frosty Mugs and what good is a Root Beer Float without a Cold Frosty Mug. Of course the parking lot is a nightmare during these times , but I got lucky and there were 2 spots open when I pulled in. Of course the dining room was full , but a couple got up just as I got my Float. You put your number on the table and they bring out your food to you.
I've come here several times over the years , many with my son when he was younger , and the food has never been anything special and has gone downhill over the years. I got a Chili Dog and Onion Rings with my Float. The Chili Dog was one of the worst I've ever had. I've had them in the past and they were okay , but not today. The Onion Rings tasted like the cheap ones you buy at the grocery store , not good or fresh tasting , just bland. Also as soon as I put my straw in the float it started overflowing faster than I could drink making a mess on the table. I guess I broke the seal of the ice cream and there was too much root beer and the ice cream started to sink pushing up the drink. I had to get a stack of napkins to clean it up. After I finished mine i did get a Free Refill of the Root Beer.
I love the old decor , the mural on the wall , the giant bear you and the kids can take pictures with. It just reminds me of when I was growing up in a small town in South Carolina. I really only stop here for the Root Beer Float because the quality of the food , even the hamburgers are just not as good as...
Read moreI had a drive-thru order for five people. We went to a park to eat and realized we were missing a burger and an order of onion rings. It wasn't a big deal, seeing as the order was so long, but when I returned to the store with the receipt, I ended up having to CONVINCE them that I wasn't lying. My family stayed at the park to start eating so I didn't have the bags or the food with me to show them what I had gotten so they made me call my family.... just to check and make sure we were missing the items... even though I was JUST there myself while we emptied the bags of all the food. The woman there insisted she put all the food in the bag, but I know she didn't, because I was charged for my brothers meal and my brothers meal wasn't there. It seemed pretty straightforward to me but it took about 10 minutes of back and forth about a single burger and an order of onion rings before she finally told the cooks to make the food. Everyone else working was kind, but it was the woman that seemed like she was in charge who was extremely difficult and honestly a bit rude. Food was good though and the younger workers...
Read moreI went to this A&W out in Boulder city and it was 7:22pm and their Business hours on a Monday are open till 10am to 8:00pm I was refused service at 7:22!!!! Obviously they had enough time to make some burgers and french fries and a couple of root beer floats!!! Simple to do and easy work and most likely would've taken about 15 minutes of their time before closing. I drove 20 minutes out of my way to enjoy an root beer float and a American burger with French fries! So disappointed and upset and had to go to boring ass sonic!!! By the way the team members working at 7:22pm were rude and arguing with me over the phone. I was so pissed off of the way they were treating me not only as a person but a willing and abled paying customer. They wouldn't comply and made an excuse that the website was wrong on Google which was clearly correct and said that they were closing soon, but I arrived on time. They wouldn't even answer the drive thru window for proper communication, which is highly unprofessional and one of the team members were hiding to avoid contact. I would not go to this A&W if it was the last...
