Huevos Avenue — Restaurant in Boulder City

This is definitely one of the best breakfast restaurants in Boulder City, especially if you want a good Mexican style dish or enjoy something on the sweet side. My wife and I have been coming here ever since they opened up and decided to finally write a review because we find that we always talk about how much we enjoyed it after the fact. Sure, it's not downtown but in a way, that's what makes it so nice and more of a locals joint. While they often have a lot of people dining in it, we've never found it to be overly crowded or had to wait too long for a table if at all and even on a weekend. On our last visit, I had the chilaquiles con huevos with green sauce and chicken and holy cow, it was the bomb! I absolutely loved that the chips were still crispy even though they were drenched in goodness and the chicken was simply delicious. Loved the fact that it was spicy as well. My wife had the french toast with strawberries and bananas and it was just as amazing. This is definitely someplace that I would recommend to anyone passing through town or for any local that hasn't given it a try yet.

09/05/24 - Just wanted to add an addendum since writing my original review and note that they now have booths along the windows which is really nice AND they also added acoustic foam tiles to the ceiling and that has helped the sound in the dining area BIG TIME! Our party of 10 or 12 recently ate at Huevos Avenue Restaurant. The food was good when it partially arrived. However this family run restaurant had a waitress who was sarcastic, rude, slow, and who brought our meals out incomplete after a long wait. Several of us had to ask where the side dishes were. My order of a side dish of home potatoes was somehow changed to hash browns. In addition, the noise was deafening from loud conversations from others in the room. I could barely hear the person sitting directly across from me. The hard surface walls didn't absorb any sound and reflected back into the room. I had asked the waitress earlier to give me the bill when it was ready. Of course it wound up down the table somewhere. I got a sarcastic response when I politely asked her if she remembered me asking for the check. In any case, I won't be back. I'm an old person and this waitress was the worst I've EVER encountered in all my years of eating in restaurants. I wasn't asking for exceptional service. I was asking for...

This was a suggestion from my brother-in-law. They took over the Pizza Hut that was here awhile back and have been making a name for themselves. The sign outside mentioned great pancakes and French toast.

The servers were courteous and checked in often to refill coffee. Ours also made some great menu suggestions and didn't blink when I asked if I could swap out the ham in my Oink-lette (3 meat omlette) with chorizo. (Tremendous flavor in that one. In the photo, I had already poured red sauce on it so it doesn't look like that upon arrival.) Wife had the buttermilk pancake combo. (Both photos came after a few bites as we were hungry but knew we needed evidence of this stop. So expect more on your plate.) Absolutely loved the omlette and pancakes were perfectly fluffy.

The decor has videos of some of their menu items being prepared which I think is brilliant. It gives you plenty of ideas about what to order next time like the chilaquiles. But I would feel comfortable sending anyone to hang out at...
