Half Fast Subs On The Hill — Restaurant in Boulder

I've been here many times and today unfortunately was so bad that I'll never come back. It took literally 1 FULL HOUR to get 2 sandwiches, not including waiting in line for 15 minutes just to have my order taken. There was 1 poor guy working there having to take everyone's order, answer phones, and deliver sandwiches to tables. Every time we asked how much longer he said another 5-10 minutes. After 5-10 mins it would be another 5-10 minutes. At least 20 or more people called in their subs ahead of time and therefore got to cut in front of us, which kept pushing our subs back. It's a ridiculous system and not fair for customers in the store already waiting who had placed an order. When the sandwiches finally came the guy working there was apologetic and nice, but unfortunately the subs were just so-so. Absolutely nothing special and no where near as good as I've had in the past. There were 2 other tables sitting next to us and they were just as frustrated about waiting an hour for a sub and mentioned not wanting to come back either. On top of everything it cost $25 for two 7" subs and chips. No drink or anything. Not worth the cost...

I called ahead with my order and picked it up within 15 minutes. The two gentlemen at the register were super friendly and got me in and out of there super fast! I liked that I was asked if I wanted to add anything to my order... I don’t think that I’ve ever been asked that while picking up food (and I’m totally the type of person that remembers something after ordering like “darn, I wish I would have gotten that”). I got the philly for myself, and the antipasto salad for my 2 year old daughter. I figured she would enjoy picking out the tomatoes. Well, I ended up eating her entire salad and gave her a chunk of my philly, but I devoured almost the whole thing as well. I was halfway back to my house near Fort Morgan and literally stopped the car and almost turned around to go back for round 2 until I realized how late it was. This was the day before Christmas and I’ve been trying to come up with excuses to go back to Boulder just so I can go back to Half Fast Subs. Can’t wait to go again! Absolutely in love with...

Overall they have awesome subs, always great quality and taste great. The reason for the 4 stars, is because the lady handling where people sit seemed to have some issues. We told her when we first came in we wanted an outdoor spot to sit, which at the time there were none. Within the 30 minutes we waited in line to order our subs we saw several groups allowed to go sit in the patio. When I asked her if we could sit out there she said there were no more seats, and I said we have been here for way longer then the 2 groups you just let go sit out there, she replied “it’s a complicated system” and huffed and puffed and got all frustrated. On top of that they had groups sitting out there that were done eating since we arrived, 40 minutes later by the time we got our food they were still out there, kind of a problem when you have a while 4 tables outside that can be used. Don’t go on Saturdays around lunch, takes about 40-50 minutes to order and...
