Ginger Pig — One big problem…it’s within walking distance to my house 😬. I have enjoyed multiple meals at the Denver location. I’ve been a big fan of Chef Natascha Hess for a few years. The story of how Ginger Pig came about, is inspirational to me on so many levels.
I squealed in delight when I found out the rumors were true, Ginger Pig was going in on the Hill!! I patiently waited for the opening! Finally today…I made Ginger Pig Boulder happen!!!! I even managed to hold it together (mostly) and not absolutely fan girl out, when I walked up and Chef took my order!!!! Meet your heroes y’all!
Welcome Ginger Pig! I love the concept of the walk-up window. It adds to the vibe of traditional Asian street food. Thank you Chef, for being so freaking rad!!! Ginger Pig within walking distance is going to be dangerous…dangerously delicious!!!! Ganbei!
1000000/10 will return (the struggle of self-control will be real!)

Read moreFirst off, why do they prompt me to tip 15%, 20% or 25% on a pick up order? There’s not even a place to sit down (tho the staff are friendly and helpful). But seriously, it just creates a painful moment of awkwardness. Am I supposed to tip someone 20% for imputing my order into a computer now? What is the tip for, exactly? Next, I have mixed reviews on the food. My daughter’s dumplings were delicious and she was very pleased. My Peanut Tofu was definitely not worth $16. It was a small portion and had very little sauce-the sauce was extremely acidic-it burned the roof of my mouth somehow. Tasted like old vinegar. Basically, it was a bowl of bland tofu with a couple peanuts and uncooked spinach. I ended up adding cannelloni beans, broccoli, more spinach, peanuts, and avocado in order to make it a real meal. Still pretty tasteless but better. Ya a cute little take out...
Read moreThe Ginger Pig used to be one of my go-to spots on the hill with their authentic dishes, great flavors, and a sense that everything was made fresh with care. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. Ever since the new menu rollout, the quality has really taken a hit. The food now tastes like it’s been pre-cooked, frozen, and reheated rather than made to order. The seasoning is either way over seasoned and inedible or it’s just bland, and the although the prices are lower it doesn’t justify the decline in quality. It feels like they expanded their menu and overhead beyond what they can support, which has sacrificed quality in the process. I really wanted to love it again, but this 2nd experience with their new menu was a huge letdown. The Ginger Pig went from being a standout favorite on the hill, to just another overhyped spot...
