I visited this café last week to try it out, and overall, my experience started off well. However, when I went to order my coffee, I encountered an issue with the barista. She was somewhat rude to me, which I initially dismissed as her having a bad day. However, I noticed that she was exceptionally polite to other customers, making it clear that I was the only one receiving this treatment.
Aside from this, the café itself was decent, though I found the coffee to be overpriced for the portion size (Starbucks offers larger cups). Unfortunately, I can't fairly assess the taste of the coffee, as it was not brewed correctly, which resulted in a poor experience.
While I don’t want to make any assumptions, a coworker who was with me observed the situation and mentioned that it seemed as though I was being singled out. Given that I have brown skin and the other customers, including my coworkers, were white, I couldn’t help but feel that her behavior may have been racially motivated. That said, I do not believe the establishment itself is at fault, but I do hope that all staff members, including this particular barista, strive to treat every customer with the same level of respect...
Read moreCoffee was THE WORST. The plants and atmosphere were great, and i didn’t have an issue with the staff as many others have expressed, but the coffee was hands down the worst i’ve ever tried, including bad Keurig and drip coffee.
I ordered an espresso with caramel flavoring, and the minimal amount of coffee I could taste had the flavor of acid water from a dirt-filled machine that hadn’t been descaled since the 70s. I couldn’t taste any caramel, so i went back in to ask for an extra shot of both espresso and caramel (at least the barista was nice and “fixed” it w no charge), and left with my coffee tasting somehow worse than it started off. It tasted like milky dirt water. Also I guess their flavoring is unsweetened which… kind of defeats the entire point of paying for flavoring in coffee??? Which should be explicitly posted somewhere, which it wasn’t. at all.
I’m sure they have good events and great atmosphere/smoothies/food or other things. But it’s rather deceiving to have “coffee” in your name and then explicitly suck at it. At the very least they should change their name to “The Stand” because coffee is not what people...
Read moreI normally don’t leave a negative review. But this place has so much potential. It’s got a great location especially in the summer, it’s cute, good theme, coffee is good.
But everytime I go in there’s like the owners and the employees and it feels like I’m totally disrupting their conversation. I feel so uncomfortable. They aren’t wearing mask and they all just stare, or keep talking before helping. It feels like this place was just made for the owner to have a spot for his own coffee.
Also a quick tip from one barista to another, the last time I went in the barista had about 4 customers and was a behind, they completely cleaned up and wiped down their station, putting everything away. Before making the next drink. Like friend, you just added so much more time between customers, just clean up after you are done with everybody.
It just needs a tad bit of professionalism and more open vibes to the people coming in. Then I’m sure the place...
