Went here 1st week she opened. Welcoming and was a good addition to the local food scene. Recently decided to do a pickup on a weekday evening. 1st red flag was the additional 'suggested' 18%, 20% or 22% tip when using the online ($1.50 service fee) ordering for pickup. Sorry but I don't agree with that high of a percentage for tipping when I'm the one driving there and picking up the food. The conundrum with these online tip requests, not just here but everywhere, is if you dont tip the requested percentage will the employee making the food give just a little less effort in their finished product? Probably not but why take the chance. So I skipped the, what should be the easier, online option and phoned the order in. Ordered 3 pizzas to go. Got there and noticed no customers eating inside and the same employee behind the counter from my 1st visit on the opening week. Paid cash. Told the counter person to put the few dollars in change into the tip jar. No thank you but silence from him while he dropped the bills and coins in. Noticeable but not a big deal to me. What was a big deal to me and caused me to write this not so fine review was to get home and discover that not 1, not 2, but all 3 pizza crusts were burned to varying degrees. What could have been excellent pizzas were now just mediocre. On top of that the Funghi pizza we received was not in reality what was described on the menu. Our order was missing not only the mozzarella but also the mushroom creme. Basically a mushroom, sausage and red sauce pizza with a burnt crust. Bad day at Luiza's? Seeing the other 5☆ reviews, probably. Will i go back anytime soon?...
Read moreMy wife and I made the 45-minute drive from RI to try Luzia's Pizza Napoletana in Buzzard's Bay, and wow, it was worth it! This was easily the best wood-fired pizza we've ever had. You can taste the freshness in every bite, the flavors were perfectly balanced, and the crust had that light, airy char that only comes from a true wood-fired oven.
We started with the Insalata Di Pollo and shared the Polpettosa pizza (we couldn't pronounce the names, but we didn't need to, they were delicious). In fact, we loved it so much, we ordered another pizza to go!
On top of the amazing food, the staff were super friendly and welcoming. You can tell they take pride in their food and service.
If you're anywhere near the Cape, or even just passing through, make the detour! Luzia's is a hidden gem that's absolutely worth the trip.
We're already planning...
Read moreI have gotten food from Luzia's 4-5 times now and I have been absolutely blown away each visit. Luzia's pizzas are everything you always hoped pizza would be: delicious, comforting, satisfying, and oh so fresh. Truly, every item I have tried at this absolute gem has been perfection. (Don't pass up a chance to try the arancini! Also, I have 100% been guilty of placing an order just to grab the panna cotta off the dessert menu. Truly a life changing experience.)
If I could give 6 stars I would. The people who bring this wonderful, inviting, and spotlessly place to life have infused it with something truly special. Worth a special trip (or a weekly trip, or a daily trip, haha!) Honestly, as I tried to explain it to my friend once: "Never before have I had a pizza that made me feel /better/...
