So I'm sad to say for $40 and all the good reviews. I was expecting a lot more. It was bad. The vast majority of our combo meals was just white rice. I would say roughly 90% of it. Also I My wife and I both agree that are home Rice maker makes much better rice. I'm not sure if it was just an off night or they just forgot to season our food but everything was extremely bland. The employees were nice, however, it seemed like they were flirting with each other more then anything else.
After I added soy sauce (my own it didn't come with any) and a good amount of aldi teriyaki sauce it wasn't bad but for 40$ I should get more then 90% white rice and flavorless meat.
Break down:
Overall the food was at a very good temp and was ready within 15min so that Is good but that is pretty much the last positive thing.
Orange chicken: had mild flavor (only thing with any flavor) but chicken was a bit in the dry side. Alot of rice that I think was also overcooked.
Beef and broccoli even less meat/veg in this box. Had some very thin sauce that I can not tell what it was it didn't taste of anything.
Chicken lo mein: had good texture and a nice mix of veggies however it was very bland and also had very little protein (I know it's a noodle dish. But for the price I should have a little more.
I know it's an American thing but I did miss not having a fortune cookie.
I might try this place again on a more popular time and see if it was a fluke/or just not the same chefs. Or if it really is...
Read moreK&L Asian Restaurant in Bowling Green, Kentucky is quietly remarkable. Set in a modest plaza, it offers a menu rooted in authentic Southeast and Central Asian cuisine, with dishes that reveal both technical care and cultural grounding. This isnât Americanized fillerâitâs food prepared by people who know what itâs supposed to taste like.
The soup dumplings arrive large, heavy with broth, skins stretched to the edge without bursting. Each one delivers a rich mouthful, perfectly sealed. The crab rangoon are hand-rolled, and it shows. No factory-cut uniformityâjust delicate folds, a crisp finish, and warm filling with actual depth.
But itâs the drunken noodles that stand out. Asked for a spice level of 5ânot knowing what that meantâI braced myself. What came out hit the mark: warm, flavorful heat without the creeping regret. Plenty of fire, but none of the gut-wrecking aftermath. For anyone who loves spice but doesnât need a war wound, itâs the right lane.
The service is warm and quick, with staff who treat you like a regular even if itâs your first visit. Looking around at the clienteleâlocals, families, and what appear to be Southeast Asian transplantsâitâs clear this place isnât pandering. Itâs cooking what it knows, and doing it well. K&L is unassuming from the outside, but itâs a quiet anchor for honest,...
Read moreThis is our second time here. First time we ate in and was before the name change and food & service were horrible!
We decided weâd try again since weâd heard it was all new people. We got food to go. We wonât be back.
I donât think people leaving good reviews know what Vietnamese is supposed to taste like. This place is NOT it! Iâm obsessed with all things Vietnamese and have been all over the country eating Vietnamese food. I even make my own pho and was shown by a couple Vietnamese ladies how to make authentic pho.
The Pho Ga here tastes like Campbellâs Chicken Noodle soup. No pho seasonings are used. Itâs bland as all get out. You barely get any boiled chicken.
Summer Rolls (Spring Rolls) are mainly all noodle and have no flavor. Peanut sauce is very runny, watered down and not very flavorful.
Ramen is bland and has a very strong peanut flavor.
Portion sizes are tiny! My normal pho bowl I use at home was only 1/3 full which is much less than normal. There wasnât even 1/4 cup of flavorless boiled chicken. (I measured in my 1/4 cup) There was 1 1/2 cups of broth, the to go container was only half full. 1 tbs of basil and bean sprouts. 1/8 tsp if siracha and hoisin.
We will stick with Tsunami when eating Vietnamese in Bowling Green. They have the best...
