Bison burger is awesome. Too much cream cheese though, but it was still awesome. The drinks were amazing. The French fries honestly sucked. They were limp and greasy. The meal would have been 5 stars if it wasn’t for the fries. I figured they’d have fries figured out by now. Please, make better fries. I swear I’ll come eat there more often. A $15 burger deserves good fries.
Update: my girlfriend and her daughter went there this evening. Below is copied and pasted regarding their waitress -
“We sat there for probably 10 minutes before she ever even came over and asked us if we wanted something to drink and then after she finally brought us our drinks and a menu she ran off. I couldn’t even ask her anything so 10 minutes later she finally came back and I asked her for a gluten-free menu And she acted like that was the end of the world and after we had already ordered our food she then decided to bring us their menu for their specials that night like that’s a waste of time and then after our food came out, we literally did not see her again until she brought the check over. Didn’t ask us if we wanted anything else if we needed anything else nothing And then Brianna ask her for a box and I said I would like one too. She completely ignored me and walked away and so we just sat there like I was gonna wait till she came back so she finally came back and was like oh I left the check here for you and I was like can I get a box too please she’s like oh OK and walked away.”
Come on guys, do better. Y’all used to be so good, but now we can’t get staff to act like they work at a good restaurant. Send that one back to Outback or train...
Read moreWent on a Saturday at 1pm. Was extremely busy but was seated quickly. The waitresses wore mostly short shorts and midriff baring tops. This actually made a couple of the people in our group uncomfortable due to one of the employees bending over a table and baring a lot more than expected or desired. We went to try a new place we hadn't tried before and we are far from prudes but I certainly would not bring my kids here. The salad was average... nothing special about it (it costs extra to add a protein). Smallish sized with little flavor and the blue cheese dressing was bland. The bison burger was perfectly cooked and was tasty. The fries were nothing special. We had 3 people in our group that ordered fries and none finished them, stating they just weren't that great. The rest of the food was nothing to mention. Overall the only good thing was the waitress refilled our drinks without having to be asked. They do not have many choices for someone who is eating low carb or healthy. Expect to pay 15-25 per person (depending on your drink) plus tip. We tipped 30% just to be nice (the waitress didn't have to do anything but take our order, bring the food to the table and refill our drink once) but we won't return. The food just wasn't that good, it was noisy and crowded, and we didn't care for the way staff was dressed. It was so loud we could barely hear each other talk at the table. Definitely more geared to college students than adults in their 30's who appreciate good food more than a...
Read moreI asked my hotel staff to recommend a place that you can go to as a solo traveler and not feel "out of place". They recommended Bar by Novo - a short distance from my hotel. From the moment I walked in I knew I was in the right place. I was seated on a nice table on the quieter side of the bar overlooking the bar and the outside balcony area. My server, Willow, was also running the bar and made me feel most welcome. Her recommendations on the food menu were fantastic as was her recommendations and knowledge of the wines. I was keen to try different sauces on the chicken wings, and when I asked Willow if that was Ok - she simply responded, "of course it is - I will make that happen". Willow was very perceptive of my accent and where I was from, and as such was keen to hear about different aspects of my Country, which resulted in pleasant and genuine conversations. What I did like was the personal touch especially when she went on her break - she introduced me to another server who would continue to make sure the "experience" continued. It is not often that you get such enthusiastic servers/staff - particularly on a relatively quiet Monday evening, and I can quite honestly state that Willow and her team made this one of the most memorable evenings on my entire 30-day trip in the US. I thoroughly recommend this place, and yes, I will most definitely visit again when next in this beautiful part of Kentucky. Willow - you are a credit to...
