Iâm going to preface this review by saying most of the people there were nice people, there was just no responsibility taken. I also never leave reviews but this left me very annoyed. Initially I came in with a corrupted storage drive They diagnosed it and said they would call me when it was fixed. They never did. More than a month later I had to call them and they had replaced the drive and returned it with a different version of windows that wouldnât give me administrator privileges. When I found out I returned it to get the original windows version installed, once again they never called me. After the second time going into the store asking if they decided to fix it, they worked on it right then and gave it back to me in the exact same state. Went back with the same issue Once again they installed their version and didnât call me, itâs been like 3 months of this now. Mother came to pick it up, the employee drops my very expensive computer, then tries to get out of fixing it after remounting the cpu fan that had fallen off and turning it on claiming âit works fine, soâŚâ. I had to come in and push them hard just to write out a contract that said if anything messed up because of the drop they would fix it (for a year) and said themselves they would order a new mount to replace the one theyâd broken. They also returned it with a missing screw to hold my glass in place. 1 month later with no calls about this, I go into the store and ask about it They go back and talk amongst themselves for 10 minutes, the one who dropped it claims âWe talked about itâ and that he never said that he would replace the part that he broke. When he finds the mount replacement he says âoh this is what he was bitching aboutâ to his coworkers and comes out and tells me itâll be here in a couple weeks. But Iâd be the one in trouble if I did something to escalate it, so I held my tongue. I came in with a simple storage issue, now I have a computer that is missing parts, the bottom is broken, the bottom right corner constantly says âverify your version of windowsâ, and it intermittently hums every day from the very nice employee dropping it. And no, I will not bring it back just so they can hold it hostage for more months while they work on âmore important ordersâ
Iâll update this if anything else happens when I try to pick up my replacement but I highly suggest going anywhere but here. If you do go here, get ready to have to call about the status of whateverâs being done.
Update: apparently all reviews are raving about how quickly and efficiently their devices were repaired, so I guess they just personally didnât...
Read moreIf you are browsing the Internet right now looking for that repair shop that you are "hoping" you can trust to both successfully repair your device AND not swindle out of half your bank account, let me stop you because you have arrived. A little background, I'm a father of four. I've been taking devices to this place as of summer of 2018, and I have kept bringing stuff back to them because once I take something that problem is fixed for good (until some new "incident" occurs that magically no one knows how it happened). As of today that is 6+ years of broken screens and charging ports or batteries that no longer hold a charge. That alone is worth repeated business. But I'm writing this review today because despite having moved to the next city over I drove back to BG with another device that wouldn't turn on or charge, or do anything at all: an aging Nintendo Switch and I left having not paid a dime but with a Switch that again works. Turns out that despite being a tech savvy dad, the night before I was just too tired to properly troubleshoot, and despite holding that power button for 30 seconds, I should have held the volume down button as well which prompts a soft reset. The software had just glitched. The screen was just frozen in an off state. But I had handed that Switch over and they had taken it to the back room. They could have told me to leave and come back in three hours and charged me $(price relevant to December 2024). That's what they had quoted me for a replaced USB C port when I had texted them the night before at 9pm through Facebook. Oh yeah, did I mention they are responsive and great at communicating? I would have come back three hours later and happily paid and left having never known the difference. But they didn't. He walked it back out with the screen on. And embarrassed, I asked him what I could pay him, but he wouldn't take my money. After this I will never take a device anywhere else if TechConnection offers a service to fix it. I tell you this so that you can have peace of mind taking your devices there too, but hopefully you won't abuse their expertise and honesty. Their services are worth every penny, but the peace of mind you can have by doing business with them is worth immensely more, so let's not ruin it for them! Good luck and hope you get your tech fixed soon...
Read moreI give an absolute ZERO OUT OF TEN recommendation to this store. About two months ago my phone got water damage and the screen stopped working. I looked up all the places in BG to get my phone fixed and this place had the best reviews. (Come to find out they have good reviews because they offer money off for a good review, not because their work is of any quality). They offer a âone year warrantyâ on their screens. Within one week my screen was cracked when I had a case and a screen protector on. My previous screen I had for over two years and never had a crack on it even with a baby/toddler. I didnât have time to take my phone in and waited close to a month to take it back and by that time my screen was severely messed up. I will take the blame for that one, I should have brought it back sooner. I had to pay another $200 to have my screen replaced on 6/16/25. TODAY 6/20/25 a quarter of my screen has a huge green line going down it. My screen nor phone has absolutely ANY physical damage. I took it back in immediately and before even looking at the phone was told âyeah thatâs physical damage thatâs not covered under warranty.â AS I SAID BEFORE THERE IS NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO MY PHONE OR SCREEN, NONE. Which is what I told the employee, to which his response was âyeah itâs physical damage on the inside.â How would you know that without even looking at the phone? So he âgraciouslyâ said he would take the screen off and let me know. 10 minutes later I was told âyeah itâs microscopic physical damage on the inside and itâs not covered under warranty but I can give you a deal and replace the screen for labor cost only at $75â đ¤Ąđ¤Ąđ¤Ąđ¤Ąđ¤Ąđ¤Ą My response was absolutely not give me my phone back Iâll take it somewhere that I can have actual quality work done.
So moral of the story is- DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING HERE TO BE REPLACED WHATSOEVER. Their âworkâ is awful and breaks within a week...
