Hideout Kava and Tea Boynton Beach — Restaurant in Boynton Beach

If you want to use this place as a third space to chill, don’t. Additionally, if you’re black don’t go. The bartenders will assume that you’re there for the free wifi. After my most recent visit, I will not be returning. One of the workers insisted that we weren’t going to get any drinks and that we need to leave if so. Not once did she ask, she assumed based off of the incorrect observation of a bartender who wasn’t even on the clock. This same bartender has previously accused my boyfriend and his friends on two separate occasions. My boyfriend, his friends, and I have been patrons at this Kava bar for a little over a year to study and just chill. We go so much, my boyfriend has enough rewards points to get free drinks. The other regular customers and even the owner himself have had conversations with my boyfriend. It was disrespectful for them to assume that this is what we were doing. Additionally, there are plenty of other regulars who either get a drink before they leave or don’t get one at all. Guess what the difference is? They’re white. Extremely disappointing that this happened because it is truly a nice location. Just expect to get scrutinized if you’re black and minding...

Their tea isn’t strong and it takes 15-20 minutes to get a drink (I literally just get a large unsweet tea the easiest drink to make) every single time no matter how slow they are. The service is just so bad.

Update: 9/27/25 This was my first time stopping after my previous review I didn’t feel like driving all the way to kavasutra, I asked for two large green u sweet teas, I recieved two medium teas and was charged $18 and on the screen it said two large teas and a customizable flavor, I asked the girl why there was a flavor charge on there, didn’t even argue about the size… she said “the screen has been showing the wrong orders but the price is right”. No, the price is not right & the size I ordered isn’t right and I literally hate this kava bar with a burning passion it’s the worst one in south Florida I swear. Posting a pic of my “large” tea that I got charged for, which is almost the size of my pill bottle and proof of the $21 they charged me for two medium teas....

I know not to come when Arianna isn't there. Came on Wednesday night 7/24 & let say this yound lady will not need to serve me again.

As of 5/27, they have designated an area at the bar, this was extremely lovely to see and I cannot wait to order next time it's busy and not feel like I should bring a giant foam finger. As always, lovely staff and great drinks.

This place needs a designated area for just to-go orders. The patrons there overtake the bar area. You have to basically be 7 feet tall to get the attention of the staff.
