What a great find on Sunday This was my first time coming to any kind of hotpot type of place. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted like we walked into our aunt's house... so warm. When we told her we never been here before... she walked us through the whole thing. She explained how the stoves work, the procedure for hotpot and the conveyor belt that brings other veggies, noodles and greens. Oooo the conveyor belt, SO cute how it is... It doesn't look like what you think a conveyor belt is. Anyway.. you see something you like, you take it off and add to your hotpot. Okay, so you pick a soup... we had the coconut and spicy sichuan ... (There are other options, including a vegan option, which is a nice touch) Then you walk up to the buffet where you pick out all kinds of meat, noodles, seafood and meat/fish balls. Then go to the sauce station, where you can mix and combine all kinds of different spices and sauces. Pile your plate and take it back to your table. Drop your meats in the soup ... they are cut so thin, it really doesnt need much longer than a minute at most. Enjoy. Repeat until full... and oh my did we.. woo. Then the more meats and things you add, the better the soup becomes... soo good. It's a great experience! I can't wait to go back! The staff was amazingly friendly... can't speak about that enough.

We were visiting from out of town, and our friends, who are locals, kept raving about this place. After visiting, I can now see why! K & L 98 HotPot gave us one of the most memorable meals during our week-long trip to Florida. This place is in a strip mall, so I wasn’t expecting much, but honestly, we felt transported the minute we walked inside. The price-to-food and quality ratio was incredible. I had not done a proper hot pot dinner in many years, and this place reminded me why I loved it so much when I did it, friends, years ago. I was impressed with the quality of the toppings — all the veggies, seafood, and sauce you could think of, and everything seemed really fresh. The all-you-can-eat concept works well here, unlike other buffets that cheapen the experience because they use low-quality ingredients. Lastly, I love that they let you sample the broth bases before deciding on one! I am so glad they do that because I thought I would order one thing, but after trying them all, I changed my mind. The only constructive criticism for the staff is to do some maintenance on the actual stoves/hot pots (is that what you call them?). Some of us at our table had issues controlling the temperature as the knob didn’t seem to work correctly.

First time trying hot pot and felt right at home with the service and ease of getting food. The manager greeted my group and explained the concept so well that we never felt confused. I ordered the "hot girl" spicy pork broth at medium heat, brought to my individual induction burner, controllable with a nob on the table. The rest was self-serve at an all-you-can-eat buffet (however; the server was nice and gave us a complementary fried gyoza starter). All sorts of meat and seafood, including fatty beef, pork belly, and crab, and much more. The self-serve area is both a buffet station and a magnetic conveyor similar to some sushi places. For ~$26 per person for unlimited broth, meat, veggies, etc, it's an amazing value and experience. If you feel nervous about hot pot like I was, just overcook your sides if you feel concerned about raw food and make sure you use separate plates for the raw and cooked foods to avoid cross contamination. Also, if you're not sure about spicy broth, order a lighter one and add chili sauce later. Check out Strictly Dumpling on YouTube if you want the down low on hot pot restaurants. His videos about hot pot got me craving to go to this place. Will definitely come back.

If I could give it 0 starts I WOULD!!! I recently visited K&L 98 Hotpot, and unfortunately, my experience left a lot to be desired. Upon sitting down, I immediately noticed that the ramen bowls they use were from pre-packaged boxes in the corner, which made the broth taste bland and lacking in flavor. There were also very few vegetable options, and the selection of meats was disappointing. Only one meat choice was circulating on the conveyor belt, which meant it was difficult to get anything fresh, and many other items seemed to be missing entirely.

The overall quality of the ingredients didn't justify the price, and the service was also frustrating. When we finished our meal and went to pay, I decided not to leave a tip, as this was a buffet-style restaurant where the server's role was limited to bringing us broth and drinks. The server then directly asked, "Oh, you don't want to tip?" after seeing I had written 0s in the tip section of the bill. I politely declined, saying "no thank you," but she continued to pressure me, mentioning, "Are you sure? This is how servers make their money." My friend, who also chose not to tip, was similarly confronted with the comment, "Oh, you too?"

This level of pressure and the poor quality of the food has made it clear that I won’t be returning. I don't mind paying for good food and service, but this experience fell short on both fronts. I would not recommend K&L 98 Hotpot to anyone seeking an enjoyable...

I visited this place twice with my family.

Positives:

-The sign above the entrance is nicely lit.

-The owner and staff greeted us politely when we walk in the entrance.

-You see the price directly on front of the desk for how much each adult and child is present in the party.

-Spaces on the tables is reasonable enough so you have plenty of room to move about.

-The options on the menu is great so you can chose which broth fits your needs.

-The utensils, napkins, tables, chairs, conveyor belt, and dishes is completely neat and clean that welcomes guests. You can grab the clamps and get the plates from the bottom and start digging!

-Has a on/off switch on the bottom-side of the table along with the wheel that dials 1-5 of your choice. For me its 3-5 to start boiling.

*Caution: Items are VERY HOT so get a cold drink incase.

-Ambience of the room is artistic.

-Food is okay.

-Bathroom is clean.

Cons: -Only the toilet seat is the dirtiest on the surface since alot of people don't know how to clean it very well considering if you have guest coming after use.

If you see the blurry marks on it like this use the pink soup dispenser (because the antibacterial container is empty) and wipe it away with reasonable amount of toilet paper.

-When you leave the restaurant you started to feel ill from the aftereffects of the food so its only minor throat buildup and goes...

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! If I could rate this place zero I would!!!!! I recently visited this hot pot restaurant, and unfortunately, it was a letdown in multiple areas. To start, the cleanliness was questionable—our plate had visible dirt on it, which was off-putting right from the start. As for the food, the broth was disappointing. It tasted like watered-down chicken flavor, almost identical to the seasoning in a packet of Top Ramen, and lacked any real depth or richness.

The setup itself was also strange. Half of the ingredients were only available via a conveyor belt, meaning you couldn’t pick what you wanted at the buffet-style section. This limited our options and made the whole experience feel a bit restricted. Even with what was available, the quality didn’t make up for it.

Service was another issue. Our server was disengaged and barely interacted with us throughout the meal. But the most uncomfortable part came when she repeatedly asked about the tip. Not once, but twice, she questioned the gratuity, despite not having provided any service beyond bringing the food and taking our payment. It felt very unprofessional and made us feel awkward.

Considering the lack of flavor, limited selection, poor service, and cleanliness issues, I won’t be returning. There are plenty of better hot pot options around, and this one just didn’t live up to...
