BOYNTON BEACH, spare yourself the aggravation and go to another establishment or West Palm Beach location- My Fiancé and I have frequented Common Grounds for several years since 2018 at the small Lake Worth location. I NEVER do this however, due the level of disrespect, crappy entitled attitudes and the overall decline of standards at Boynton Beach, we have ceased going to ALL Common Ground locations. I was in the Boynton Beach location during slower time of week day where 1 of 2 young ladies working was in flip-flops and pajamas, the other in a pajama top with a very large, exaggerated collar opening that fell off both shoulders, no bra and neither had hairnets. I ordered a sunrise plus and asked for it to be well crisp along with a Latte in a to-go cup, and xtra hot. I waited at my seat for appx 15-20 minutes when I went to the counter and ask why it’s taking so long. My food was sitting there with coffee, not as I’d ordered and COLD. I asked the young lady why she’d not called my name and she said in a very nasty tone “i did”… when I asked her at what point she was going to notify me my food was sitting getting cold she told me “that isn’t my responsibility”…. Naturally she had to remake the sandwich, as it wasn’t even toasted and it had copious amounts of cream chz when I asked for just a light spread. As my sandwich was being remade by the other of the 2 working, she was bending down reaching into the cabinet for something while she had the plate in one hand. As she bent down her very large, oversized shirt slid down and off her shoulder with what would be her right breast coming out of the shirt. She had to catch her shirt in a haste and proceeded to turn away as to shield all of this, as I was standing there at the counter watching it all. In doing so, her hair falls onto my plate and my newly toasted croissant. And yes, she acted like “nothing to see here” and proceeded to make my sandwich-again-but I stopped her, as I wasn’t having my sandwich with a side of her hair, or anything else she was serving from underneath her shirt after having to “place herself back together”. All W/OUT gloves. I asked for Julianna, the manager on duty according to the board (Juliana was actually right there and was the one who originally made the sandwich and hadn’t notified me that my order was complete). Julianna proceeded to berate and throw a tantrum like an absolute lunatic for me mispronouncing her name “Julianna” instead of “Hooliana” with an “H” sound, as I told either of them that their behavior, their attitudes, their dress attire and their entitlement is absolutely out of line and WRONG. I left with no food & no coffee after getting a refund. And I didn’t leave a review…
Fast forward 2 weeks and I’m in line waiting over 10 minutes with my fiancé, behind someone who is now complaining to Julianna about being there watching them for 15-20 minutes without even so much as a greeting. A young lady with red hair and very poor attitude immediately took his order and thereafter, Julianna came and asked my fiancé and I, “are you the one?”….. We bot just looked at each other and asked if we can just order and get our coffee and sit down. Julianna then immediately proceeded to threaten calling the police, claiming that we were trespassing after the police had trespassed us. Obviously this was a lie, and Juliana went and got on the phone and proceeded to have a fake conversation with whomever, 2 minutes into her conversation the phone ringing in her ear as she was “speaking”… I then took this video.
The behavior and attitudes are so egregious that we’ve entirely opted out of attending any Common Ground location. It’s quite a disappointment to see standards in our society having been almost entirely replaced with entitlement, and the customer whom these establishments depend upon become a nuisance when demanding the quality we are entitled to as...
Read moreCommon Grounds is hands down my favorite coffee in FL, especially coffee from their Lake Worth location. It’s been a while, and I know SM’s have changed but I went to this location today around 8:30am on my way to work. There was no line at the cash register and a kind gentleman was waiting for his drink on the side with his dog. After I walked to the register, I quietly waited to be acknowledged, assuming the woman behind the counter was busy. As I was waiting instead of greeting me, the woman behind the counter looked at me and then just looked down, which I didn’t think anything of it, maybe she was overwhelmed. After five minutes of not being greeted, acknowledged or even looked at while at the counter, I initiated saying hello and that I had a pickup order. Im not sure why I was ignored, I didn’t say anything, but it’s disappointing that I had to initiate communication to get any service or even be acknowledged while at this cafe. As someone who has worked in the service industry before, this was really bad etiquette and this experience has turned me off from wanting to go back to...
Read moreCoffee was sour and the pastries had too much sugar. They make vegan pastries in the same area they make the regular pastries with milk and eggs. The staff were stressed and behind in orders. I had to wait a long time because one of the staff took an extra long lunch break. I saw one of the owners kick out a customer who had beef with him. They do create coffee but not to the community especially the homeless community. The owners (mike olive and his son) pretends like he is christian but when a homeless man asked for a home, he just offered thoughts and prayers. The owner supposedly runs a church as well. The owner has vacant guest bedrooms but refuses to help any homeless. The homeless say they are being used for labor by the owners to build their church and they get free food but are not paid. They use the church donations to live in a luxury gated community with a pool to live their luxury lifestyle as a pastor and coffee owner. I don't like the vibes of this coffee shop. I can find...
