Katsu Bar — Restaurant in Brea

First time trying this place out and was really hoping for a good experience but unfortunately it was one of the worst sandwiches I've ever tried.

Got the original katsu sandwich with pork and the pork was basically inedible. It was tough, dry and you could NOT bite it apart like a sandwich should be. The whole thing was bad and I would say it might've just been an issue with their pork but I also got the korean chicken appetizer and the chicken was also REALLY tough and dry so I know it wasn't just an issue with the pork.

Overall the flavor is there but the whole thing was completely ruined because of the extremely poor quality of the meat. Plus our waffle fries were served cold. Like, they had been sitting out for 10 minutes cold.

I've never had a pork katsu sandwich that was literally inedible due to the meat being too tough to bite through.

For $45 I expect the meat to be at least be semi tender and in a market with everyone trying to one up each other in the chicken sandwich market, Katsu Bar scored a zero with me.

I will not be a returning customer which is unfortunate because I am a local and would like to support local businesses but I feel this business just doesn't deserve my support for the kind of poor quality they serve at this...

I can’t say enough good things about Katsu Bar in Brea! If you’re a fan of crispy, juicy katsu and perfectly balanced flavors, this place is a must-visit.

I tried the Rosemary Katsu Sando, and wow—it was next level. The pork cutlet was super crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the yuzu cabbage with whole grain mustard aioli gave it such a unique kick. Also had the Curry Udon with Chicken Katsu, which was rich, comforting, and packed with flavor.

The food here is not only delicious but also super well-presented. The service was fast and friendly, and the place had a chill, clean vibe. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, they don’t skimp on quality.
