En Lai Restaurant — Restaurant in Bremen Township

I wanted to try this place after a few people recommended it to me. I usually go to another Chinese restaurant, but it's nearly 30 minutes away from me and I wanted something closer. So, I tried this place. When I arrived, there were no other customers in there, but I proceeded to order anyway. There are no prices on the menus so I had to open a flyer up to see what they sold and how much everything was priced for. I saw a Pork or Chicken Egg Foo Young lunch special for $4.99. I asked for Shrimp Egg Foo Young instead with Shrimp fried rice. It was after lunch, so they added a $1 to my order. This is sorta pricey to me being that you only received rice with whatever lunch entree you order. There is no egg roll or soda. You must pay extra for those items. I've never been charged for an egg roll when I order a special at other Chinese spots. That was $5.99 + tax for only 2 patties and some rice. What's special about this order? So, that was strike 1. I get my order and take it with me not bothering to look at it. Once I got a chance to open it, I noticed there was no shrimp in my shrimp fried rice, only onions. Strike 2! Tried the Egg Foo Young patties and poured the gravy on top. The patties were greasy and the gravy was salty. Strike 3! The food could have been better. The taste wasn't completely bad, but those things really turned me off to this restaurant on my first visit. I've had better food. I don't think I...

I haven't been there in over a year. It was my go to place for a long time. My order was just ok, but didn't taste like it normally do. Nice portion but lacked some ingredients most importantly the meat that was suppose to be in there. Literally I counted about 4 little pieces. Just not the same, but in all honesty this is the first time this has ever happened. I will give them one more try before I write them off. Maybe just an off day, but never the less very disappointing. I ended up throwing it away. Update: 02/23 from above review. A year later the food has gone from bad to worse. I will never go back. My food once again was awful how can you mess up egg rolls. Burned with a bad taste and greasy. Egg foo young burned greasy no gravey and sesame chicken so dry and hard unable to chew it. Updated review*The food quality has changed. A few times we came the food was not as good. Not sure if they are trying new recipes, cutting cost or if it's a new Chef. I ordered the Sesame Beef it was extremely soggy. It was like they half fried it and soaked it in water. I could not eat it. It was very mushy. I took it back so they can see. The lady saw it was mushy. Instead of her just replacing the food, she was talking trash. She had an attitude and was rolling her eyes. She tried to blame it on the sauce, then the container. I have had this dish before and it has never been soggy. They replaced it and it was perfect, but after seeing her behavior. I won't spend my money here. This place is starting to be hit or miss.
