Retro Burger — Restaurant in Bremen Township

I would give this place 0 stars if i could. I decided to take my daughter out for a nice lunch after school, or at least that’s what i thought. i felt unwelcome from the moment we walked in. I was a new costumer at retro burger and had a few questions about the menu. The man behind the counter went on to say things like, “well don't you see it on the menu?” Or “It says it right there.” Me being optimistic I assumed he was having a bad day but I couldn’t help but notice he was extremely nice to the white lady in the lobby. I intended to pay for my food and leave until I asked what types of different soda they had and he processed to tell me “don’t you see what’s right there?” As if i was supposed to throw my body over the counter to see my options. I thought i was crazy until the person i was talking to on the phone noticed his disgusting ignorance. After he was done with the food I graciously declined and took my daughter elsewhere. It’s amazing how nice your day can be going and how fast it can be ruined just based on your skin color. I am of mixed race. My daughter is black, and my mother white. That is the first time I’ve experienced such blatant racism while supporting a local business and i am disgusted to say the least. If you have any integrity or basic respect for humans DO NOT SUPPORT...

Update: for everyone following the latest health research, seed oils are out and beef tallow is in. This place uses beef tallow! For such a small local place, the quality of everything is outstanding. THE BURGERS ARE ENORMOUS! My boss is a huge eater and couldn’t finish a regular single patty burger. The hotdogs are some of the best if not Thee best around. Everything is fresh. The burgers are not from frozen. The quality of the food is unmatched. The vibe is great. The owners do all the cooking, are super friendly. Patrons of all color, creed and profession come in and everyone is happy and talking to each other. There’s a few small tables inside but many tables outside so it’s the place to be in warmer weather. The extra touches and attention to quality is great. I wasn’t a big salad eater until I started going here. The creamy Caesar dressing is so full of Parmesan and garlic, the lettuce is always super green romaine (not iceberg like most other places) and there’s just so much. All the extras are so fresh… cuts of cucumbers, tomatoes, I add mushrooms, and they sprinkle it with Parmesan. I can get two meals out of it. They put a big cup of dressing on the side. Nothing stingy about this place. And it’s clean, the kind of clean you don’t usually find in little...

Friendly folks own the place. I'd much rather spend my money someplace where I know the owner had a personal interest In the product leaving the kitchen. Updated menu with 1/2lb burgers all hand made, most excellent!

Update 10/19 Just stopped in for lunch today, they've upped their game. The burgers we're good before, but using better ingredients like brioche buns, fresh pickle, Lord THAT was a great burger!!!

Update 3/2025 Everybody at home was away, I have been craving a Retro burger, and I was VERY happily rewarded, I am so glad these guys are here. I have no ties with the place, I come here when I want the best burger in the area. I don't know of anywhere else outside of the city that makes a better burger, no hype, God's honest truth. This place should be blowing up, that does confuse me a little that they are not slammed until the lights are out at night, but I'm glad to know these guys are there cranking out...
