Papa Murphy's | Take 'N' Bake Pizza — Restaurant in Bremerton

3/29/24 To make anyone reading this review aware, I am not the one who physically went to Papa Murphy and picked up the pizza; it was my hubby.

That said, I can give you my personal opinion on the pizza, but nothing else.

For anyone who is not aware of Papa Murphy Pizza, it is a take-and-bake pizza place where you can create your own pizza or choose from one of many specialty pizzas. Papa Murphy's also offers calzones, monkey bread, and the option for dairy-free cheese.

We decided we wanted to build our own off of a Hawaiian pizza. The Specialty Hawaiian pizza included Canadian Bacon, Pineapple, Cheddar, Whole-Milk Mozzarella, and Traditional Red Sauce. It sounds good on its own, doesn't it? I wanted a few more vegetables on there, and hubby agreed. We both love pizza and understand how evil pizza can be, so what's the harm in adding more healthy items to an already great pizza? No harm at all =D He added jalapenos, onions, spinach, bell pepper, and black olives to the Hawaiian pizza, which made it awesome tasting!

It has been a long time since we had a Papa Murphy pizza, probably a decade or longer. But we were happy with the pizza. The flavor was there, and the toppings were fresh-tasting and perfect amount of cheese. The crust was good, but not my favorite. And the sheer number of toppings for 30ish dollars—well, the price tag seemed a tad high, but what isn't today? Overall, I think it was a good pizza for the size and price. With every pizza, they offer instructions on how to cook it. If you lose those instructions, hop onto Papa Murphy's website, and you'll find detailed instructions there.

My hubby did comment on how clean the store was and how friendly the gentlemen making our pizza was.

If you don't mind baking the pizza yourself, this is the way to go!

Awesome staff, always fast and friendly. I can't say I like the prices, so I only order when I have a coupon because my single large pizza usually comes out to about $30, which is super expensive for a pizza I have to cook myself. If they would cut their prices by about 25 to 30%, I'd eat here more often.

Example: if my pizza is normally $30, I'll eat here let's say 3 times a year; so they get $90 from me. If they reduced the price 30%, so my $30 pizza comes out to $21, I'd probably eat here at least once a month; so they'd get $252 out of me; so an additional $162 yearly. But if they are going to keep it at $30 for my pizza, then I just take this $30 and make my own pizza (my white garlic sauce is to die for) as I can get like 5 or 6 individual pizzas out for about the same price.

One thing I wish all papa murphys would do ... chop up the ingredients before you put them on the pizza. I get things like artichoke put on my pizza but the artichoke pieces are HUGE, so we actually have to pull off the ingredients when we get home and chop them up so they spread better and you aren't getting a bite that is just a huge artichoke heart (or something else).

I didn't dock them for the price or the chopped up ingredients (as this effects every location, not just this location). The food is always great, the staff is always friendly, they are always accurate and they are quick. Last time I went in here, I got to talking to the staff for like 20 minutes while they were working,...

Although I placed my order and it was set to be ready almost at closing time (7:53pm est p/u) [store closes at 8pm] when I came to the store to get my order, I was greeted by 2 really phenomenal employees. One was beginning the clean-up process for closing down the day, the other made the way to the register to assist me. I was even asked if I was picking up or ordering- sometimes if a place is closing down, they will not offer anything past a certain time- I was so surprised that the employees [both] did not seem bothered (had I intended to place an order this close to closing hour) but since I was there for p/u, I was politely directed to the p/u station/area.
