They make a really good boiled seafood dinner with a half pound boiled shrimp, diveined, a smallish boiled clean ed king crab which they say is a half pound, lots of new boiled potato quarters, a small ear of corn, and two deviled egg halves. The cost is right around $30, but I'm sure it is market value for each half pound of shrimp and crab... It is a clean, simple smallish restaurant with friendly workers, all of who are very pleasant and the easy to deal with. I discovered after ordering that they have fried dill pickles, which I love, but did not get a chance to sample that day. Being disabled and indigent, these meals are a special treat for me! I am fortunate my neighbor introduce me to the place, and took me there! Can't wait to try those pickles! They do have other things besides seafood on their menu, however I have not had a chance to try anything else. They're boiled seafood special does come drenchrd in melted in butter, and the new potatoes are extra soft. The whole thing is well seasoned, but not heavily seasoned. It is just a simple, old fashioned, friendly place , clean and the kind of place that you just don't see very often find anymore. No gimmicks, just simple good food, by regular friendly people. It does appear to be owned and operated by good friendly African-American people. I wish I could put zero stars!! Last visit was horrible and unprofessional! I placed an order, waited 30 mins and went to pick up my order to get told there's a problem with my order. Not one person called to let me know of this. Get there and apparently they only had a spicy sauce available and was waiting on a truck for the mild sauce. I was told the truck would be there in 15 mins and I ended up spending my whole lunch hour waiting for this supposedly truck with an ETA of 15 minutes to come. That truck did not come at all in an whole hour!! While I was waiting, The lady kept trying to offer me the plate that was made with the spicy sauce. I let her know 3 times I can not eat anything spicy due to an allergy. Then she came out with a sample to have me try and taste! After declining her once again she finally asked me to wait another 5 mins for the truck so then they can make a new order. After 45 mins passed with no new news, I ended up speaking my peace and left with nothing but a "Sorry, I dont know what to say or do attitude". No...

The food does not taste the same. I used to love this place but was disappointed. The buffet was just sitting, not fresh. Chicken was bland, dressing was bland. For the first time ever in my life i threw away an entire crab boil plate. It was not fresh and texture resembled rubber. I was extremely disappointed and let down. The empty parking lot during lunch should have told me all I needed to know.

The owners responses speak volumes professionally. We purchased 2 crab plates, 2 slices of dry cake, a dry old chicken plate, and drinks as well. It’s not serious enough for me to argue with an establishment about how bad the food was. The service wasn’t terrible it was the quality and taste of food. Again i am disappointed at how down hill this restaurant has gone. It used to be one of my favs. Johns Seafood even tastes better now, gas station chicken plates were fresher than the plate I purchased with my hard earned money. Please stop discrediting a customers experience.. just unprofessional, so now i will rank your service...
