I recently dined at Del Frisco Grill in Brentwood, Nashville, driven by curiosity and the restaurant’s appealing ambiance. As an individual who prefers establishments with a substantial number of positive reviews, I decided to give this restaurant a try despite noticing its relatively modest review count. Regrettably, my experience fell far short of my expectations, and I must share my concerns.

Upon arriving with my brother, I had previously made reservations online to ensure a smooth dining experience. However, upon mentioning our reservations to the hostess, it seemed as though they were not aware of them in the system. Nevertheless, we were seated promptly due to available seating.

After sitting and waiting for thirty minutes for a server, we were attended by our waitress, Alexis, an African American woman. From the outset, her demeanor seemed somewhat insincere in her efforts to serve us. What struck me as disheartening was that she initiated by taking my brother's order, neglecting the customary practice of starting with the female in a party of two. It was an unfortunate departure from the principles of good customer service and left me feeling somewhat overlooked.

Throughout the meal, I noticed a stark difference in Alexis' level of engagement and enthusiasm when attending to other customers compared to our table. She seemed more inclined to interact with other patrons, while her interaction with us was perfunctory at best. For instance, when she brought my drink with a straw that she had inserted into the drink with her unwashed hands, I requested another straw in its wrapper. However, she informed me that they did not have any. Additionally, I asked for plastic cutlery, which she failed to provide, and it was another staff member who eventually fulfilled this simple request.

During our dining experience, Alexis checked on us briefly, walking by the table in a hurried manner, in stark contrast to the attentiveness she displayed with other guests. While she apologized to other diners for a delay in taking their orders, attributing it to serving our table, she did not acknowledge or apologize for our extended wait for her to take our order.

Regarding the food, it was satisfactory, but not exceptional considering the restaurant's reputation and prices. Unfortunately, my brother received Brussels sprouts instead of the wild mushrooms he had ordered, but he chose not to complain and ate them nonetheless, highlighting yet another example of subpar service.

My overall experience at Del Frisco Grill was disappointing, culminating in an unpleasant feeling upon leaving the establishment. I must admit that the service provided by Alexis was lackluster, and I left a tip only out of a sense of social obligation, despite believing it was not deserved. I feel that the other staff members who brought our food demonstrated more genuine and attentive service, warranting greater appreciation.

Furthermore, I am experiencing discomfort and stomach-related issues after consuming the drink served by Alexis, which may be related to her handling of the straw with unwashed hands. In hindsight, I should have asked her to replace the drink entirely.

In conclusion, while the restaurant's ambiance and location were appealing, the poor customer service I encountered significantly diminished my dining experience and something that was served to me made me sick to the stomach. As an African American individual, I felt the need to address this aspect to provide a comprehensive perspective, as there were no issues related to her being African American. Ultimately, I am hesitant to recommend Del Frisco Grill to others, particularly those who share my identity. For exceptional dining experiences, I believe attentive service and culinary excellence are paramount, elements that were regrettably lacking during my visit to...

So my girls took me here for my birthday dinner which was nice. We ordered a splint and artichoke dip for an appetizer. This was a very flavorful dip and served with a seasoned baked pita. They found out it was my birthday and brought me out a birthday card which was a nice personal touch. At the end of the meal, they brought me out a delicious crème brûlée cheesecake. For my entree, I went with the 16 oz. Ribeye ordered medium with pan seared asparagus for my side. When they brought out my steak, I had them confirm that it was a ribeye as it very much looked like a NY Strip. They assured me it was and I ate it but to me the steak did not cut like a ribeye. Because this is a high end restaurant, their cut must be a different type of more expensive cut but typically a ribeye is marbled throughout the steak. This steak only had fat around the edge and none in the middle. Again it may be a more expensive cut of meat than I’m accustomed to. The seasoning had a nice flavor but I had ordered my steak medium but it was more on the medium rare to rare temperature. When the server brought back the steak after I had sent it back thinking it was a different cut, he did say if something is not right, they would make it right. At that point I had not yet cut into my steak to see it was more undercooked than I liked. This made for the cutting and chewing of the steak more difficult. I could have tracked them down and asked for it to be cooked a little more but once the food hit the table, they didn’t come back for a bit. The asparagus was tasty but I did have a few stalks where the bottoms of the stalks were not cut off high enough and those were fibrous and I had to spit those out. My wife had the roasted chicken and she liked it pretty good. One of my daughters had the fish and chips and it was a good bit of food. She thought it was tasty and had to take part of it home as it was too much to eat. My other daughter just had a Caesar salad so there is not much to say about a salad. The service was very friendly and personable and were constantly filling drinks when needed. We did not order any alcohol but you can still expect to pay $35 to $55 per person depending on what is ordered. I can’t say that I wasn’t disappointed with my steak. For $55, I expected it to be much better. I would like to give this place another try because I still don’t think my cut was ribeye. The atmosphere was a bit loud and hard to talk at times. The music playing was loud as well. For a restaurant of this quality, I would have thought a lighter style of music should have been playing to make it more elegant. Because of my meal, I can’t give more than three stars but know they are better...

I made reservations for a party of three on Friday night. We got there about 15 minutes early and asked if there was anyway we could move our table to outside. The hostess said sure. She sat us we waited, we waited, and we waited, 20 minutes went by and I went in to ask the hostess if we had a surver. We were early, so I was giving it from the time our reservation actually was for but still, roughly about 20 minutes. We waited another five minutes and the server finally came out. She did apologize. They sat us in an outside booth which clearly it was for outside dining however it didn’t have a cushion so we sat so low that the table came up to our collarbone. We finally ordered drinks and an appetizer. Then we ordered our entrées. Entrées came out about 30 minutes after our app which OK is fine. The appetizer was amazing I have to say that it was the artichoke and it was delicious. Our entrées came out and they were not hot. My friend and i both had the salmon and my daughter had a steak. We finished up with some desserts which was good. The salmon was OK, not as good as we had hoped it would be based on the endorsement from our server. Went home not feeling great finally got to sleep, woke up feeling awful not sure if it was from dinner or not so I called my friend who had the same thing I had. She was not feeling well either. We did call to let the restaurant know that there may have been a situation and all we got was they hadn’t heard anybody else have an issue and that they hope we felt better. We were not looking for any type of compensation only truly just wanted to make them aware that if indeed it was an issue maybe they needed to check into it. Nonetheless not a great dinner. There are so many restaurants in our area. We chose this one because we hadn’t been and had heard good things about it. Knew it was pricey but was willing to give it a shot. Needless to say completely not worth the check! We will not...

We decided to try Del Frisco’s Grille for the first time during a shopping day. The food was great—full of flavor, with good portions perfect for sharing to sample several items at once. I ordered the roasted chicken and heirloom tomatoes appetizer, and both were 10/10. My chicken was slightly dry but still very flavorful. Their sweet tea had a great balance between sweetness and flavor. As for the service, it was decent. Our waiter assumed we’d be sharing a meal, which I found a bit presumptuous, especially given my background in the restaurant industry. I believe it's better to let the customer initiate such conversations, as it can come off as offensive. The prices are slightly higher than average, around $30-50 per person. We sat in the outdoor area, which was comfortable at 70 degrees, but the seating could use better support as the cushions were quite soft. Parking is limited in this busy area, and we had to walk a bit to reach the restaurant. We didn't mind, but definitely plan ahead if you're running late for a reservation during lunch or dinner rush! Overall, I’d recommend Del Frisco’s Grille and would return, but it wouldn't be a regular spot for me.

I have been in Brentwood Tn this week, and have dined at 5 restaurants since Monday. By far, this is the best of them. I had their Sticky Wings. Though they are not quite as good as my other half makes, they were still very good. Not fall-off-the-bone, just very tender and tasty. I chose smaller plates for my meal. Truffled Mac-n-Cheese, and Mushroom. Add to that the BEST Old Fashion I've had in quite some time. Maybe it was the Bourbon. I changed from Maker's Mark to a Buffalo Trace Espresso Bean variety. Either way, it's the best I've had in a long while. Plus, my server was trainee; I told her trainer she's ready to be on her own, despite needing one more trainee shift. Dine here, you will not be disappointed. A little pricey on the Steaks, but if they are anywhere close to as good as my meal, it's worth it.
