To make this simple & short without going into a long list of negatives that I have with the location bread co that’s more convient for me . I decide to visit this Brentwood Square location. Its fri nov 30th 2018 pm in evening around 6:30-7:00 ish. I’m at regester waiting In a short line to place my order, & this WOMAN MANAGER EXTRRAMLY STERN FACED Comes to other register to start taking orders.SHE DID NOT GREET ME IN ANYWAY WHATS SO EVER. & HER BLANK ANGRY LOOKING FACE REMAIND THAT WAY MY ENTIRE STAY. That’s something one should not expect from magment. She was also clearing tables without saying any thing to coustomers like to b sure everything ok & such. Saw her as was leaving she was back at register & she still had that stern mean face on. It was unpleasant, not something I want to see.Not only that ,the middle aged ladyj deliving orders to table was exact way & not saying a word .when asked for more salad dressing could tell it was the wrong thing to do,. I’m not going to tolerate any more unfriendly r rudeness with bread’s co ‘s staff at ANY LOCATION.They r down grading themselves. District managers please do something with this constant problem of unfriendly staff. Not all staff is unfriendly there r some really triffic ones . One the most import things with people coming into any establishment & spending their hard earn cash is making them happy to b there & welcomed as soon as they walk in the door.r in bread co’s case before they even place that order & no matter who they are , Everyone treated equal. Make their experience a positive one. No negative energy. & they r sure to b happy to rerun. Please read all reviews from everyone& please address them . I don’t want anyone loosing their job , that’s not not my point. I feel everyone has the right to work & those with disabilities & also may have learning disabilities as long as they r trying . But once u get disrespectful,& act like their work is a play ground & they choose to have attitudes cause they don’t seem to know anything about respect r how to treat others ,those employees after given warning & still no improvement. Means they don’t need r want to work Give the job to someone who is going to follow through & wants to b there. Bread co used to b a place for me to get a quick meal & to unwind. Lately I find myself avoiding for periods to avoid the negative energy from JUST SOME NOT ALL the young staff they seem to b employing. Also it seems to b work for me when ordering. They don’t listen most time when u r speaking . Why do a majority of them when they ask is this to go r take out & you clearly answer where they hear u loud& clear ,ask u another time u answer & then another time it’s like what’s going on didn’t u hear mewhen u asked me first time I’ve nevet said that wanted to just thought it.& they r looking right at u. Lots of mistakes while taking orders I’ve experience so I have to feel I have to make this great effort in addressing my order in a way that’s more effort than I feel I should to avoid those mistakes & they still don’t seem to listen . Unless it’s an long time employee r one of the so few Thats knows how to get it correct & I feel I casually order that is addressed to Richmond Hts location . This also don’t give table pagers out if no one is going to b in dining area & get those orders right out to u as come out. I know they r doing other tasks as well but unwed to work out a system that works & a manager on duty in evening to where everyone is doing there jog instead their acting like pre school teens& their socializing at register area & in dining room r in bathroom when only going in there to do so & not letting anyone know they will b off floor duty. Didn’t mean for this to b so long . I strongly encourage patrons of any of the bread cos in mo. To please write reviews in hopes changes will b made by magment in all locations I...
Read moreThis particular location gets crowded. There be lots of people of all kind that come here. I admit, this place doesn't feel like a restaurant. People mostly come here to study, use WiFi, use their laptops and get drinks via the SIPS club. The fact that so many people come to the Saint Louis Bread Company to use WiFi, do computer work, do homework, reads, come to socialize, do meetings, etc. it should become (or remain) a DIRECTION for Saint Louis Bread Company as a company!! Besides its "fresh" food emphasize (more on the food later), apparently there is a BIG market for the ATMOSPHERE that the SaInt Louis Bread Company provides. This is not only true for this location, but MANY Saint Louis Bread locations. This place beats libraries!! I think the SIPS club brings in more people and the SIPS club is the culprit!!
As for the food?? The food is EXCELLENT!! But, Saint Louis Bread Company need to be sure to keep ow prices (if possible) because there are all types of demographics that come to the Saint Louis Bread Company (as mentioned above); that WILL use the Saint Louis Bread Company as a place to do work, get drinks, etc. But, will go to surrounding restaurants/stores to eat, etc. And such would be a loss if not managed/noted properly. So, the Saint Louis Bread Company itself need to make its prices competitive to neighboring stores; considering the various demographics that come in as of now. This should be something of consideration I not just the Brentwood location, but for ALL of Saint Louis bread company locations!! Afterall, the Saint Louis Bread Company over the recent years apparently is no longer perceived as a place where only rich people go to eat. The Saint Louis Bread Company now draws people of ALL types of income levels. This fact shouldn't be overlooked!!
The only thing that I don't like about the Brentwood location particularly is some of the demographic types that come to this location including the ghetto, obnoxious kids, a guy sleeping at the table, the occasional beggers/pan handler who comes in begging for a dollar or two to catch the bus or something; there be homeless people coming in and literally all types of people. This may be due to the Metrolink and Metro-buses being nearby; making it easier for all types of people to come to this location if they themselves don't have a car. Some of those people go to the nearby Walmart too. Walmart is somewhat walking distance from this Panera.
Some of the above demograhics may be a turn off for some people; especially if some people come to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. I don't see as much of the above issues at other Panera locations. Such happens at other locations too, but not as frequently as Brentwood!!
But still, this Brentwood location has one of the BEST staffs. The staff is some of the most diligent people. Due to the staff, this place is STILL kept clean, orderly and presentable despite who comes in.
All in all, this Brentwood location is DEFINITELY a place where people come to have a good time!! And I think these facts can be an opportunity for the company itself to play more...
Read moreThis location is horrible-in terms of attention to detail, customer service, and now I only avoided being ripped off since I was diligent and checked my order. Last two times we called in and wanted express pick-up the orders were wrong-but we failed to check before arriving home and when we called no one was particularly concerned. We were also told "try ordering online." So, I ordered a Wednesday morning pick up Monday evening online, paid, and got my confirmation. When I arrived Wednesday morning, I checked my order: wrong again! I had ordered 3 Asiago Cheese Loaves for an event. Only two were in the bag-even though I had pre-ordered three and been charged for three. The receipt on the bag showed three items. So, I asked the Manager on Duty (Sam) to give me a third loaf-which he agreed was missing (but no apology for the error). He explained he only gets two loaves each day to "bake off"-so I asked why the system let me order three. He said "you have to order early"-and I noted I'd ordered Monday. He then said "well, you have to order THREE days early..." and I noted the order had been received, processed, and paid for-so why no note on the bag? Why was the charge still there? Why didn't someone call? And why all the excuses and sort of inferring the issue was mine? He offered to substitute an asiago focaccia and again seemed bothered by having to deal with the issue. I took the substitution, but asked to have the Store Manager call me so I could address my concerns and maybe provide some feedback that could avoid this issue for others. He took my phone number, and assured me that Elise (sp?) would call me back that day. Well, that was 10 days ago and I haven't heard a word. Panera's growth from its humble St. Louis Bread Company beginnings has been good for them-but bad for the customers. Quality is down, prices are up, the orientation towards taking care of customers has vanished. I'm going to start driving the extra distances to other local coffee/bakery/sandwich vendors going forward and I know I am not alone in...
