I have so many fond childhood memories thanks to this place. My mom used to pick me and my sisters up from school and take us there..... where I would always order a footlong hot dog with mayo and ketchup only and tater tots and a chocolate banana milkshake. Best milkshakes I've ever had in my life! Hands down. And the tater tots are to die for.
Up until my last three times eating here I would have given this place a 5-star review and told you that the people who own it and who run and work for the establishment are five star people and provide excellent service. I would have told you that I have never got an order that was not perfect. The food that I ordered was NEVER over or under done, incorrect, or missing items, or even having items that I didn't order. And I've lived here and eaten there all my life... I would have told you that the service has always been very friendly and cordial. Smiling faces all around. You could tell they put their heart into the business and customer service. I always felt like tipping. They earned it.
The last three times I have been to this drive in my order has been wrong and or missing items. The first time my tatertots were burned and it took forever for them to bring them out. I watched them take several other people their meals first. Another time the woman answering the call button reverberated back to me exactly what I ordered, including my milkshake, which was the very first thing that I ordered (and something I commonly order and have expressed to them has been a favorite of mine since childhood), but when my order (FINALLY!) came out, neither my milkshake, nor my child's drink did. And the burgers were so sloppily made and drenched with mustard that myself and my daughter were barely able to eat them. They seemed as though they had just been thrown into the bags. When I returned for the drinks that I had ordered and paid for they came out and showed me a receipt and told me that I did not order a milkshake. Conveniently, they had not rung it up. I told her I DID want to purchase a milkshake and if they could please be quick I would appreciate it because I needed to be somewhere and had not even had time to return. Now, as I said, the woman DID reverberate it back to me. So I know that she heard me order it. The woman looked smug about it. Which was very bothersome. I had spent gas I could not afford to return to get the beverages. This last time, like every single time I go there, I ordered tater tots. And they brought me out french fries instead. I was almost home before I noticed it. So, yet again, I had to return to have my order fixed. The woman who answered the call button said that she had knew I had ordered tater tots and had told the cook as much and didn't know why the woman made fries and sent them out anyways. Sure thing. Fat chance. This was clearly intentional. By the time I had my tater tots, which took forever, my hamburger and my daughter's was cold. And I had already eaten and fed my child cold food because of them deliberately messing up our orders TWICE. This time I asked them to replace the burgers because I was not content to eat another cold burger as a result of their intentional negligence. The woman was very snippy with me and had a profoundly expressed attitude problem. She insisted on having the cold burgers back. 10 minutes later I hit the call button again for an ETA of our food, and she told me the burgers were cooking and that was what was taking so long. But I'm sure that most everybody has worked fast food at some point or another, and we all know it doesn't take that long. It wouldn't take that long to cook an entire grill full of hamburgers over charcoal. And there was only one other car there. The car had been sitting there since before I returned, headlights on, and were still there before I left. They did not order food, or were eating for 45 min, because no food was carried to them that I saw. So it seems far-fetched to believe that they were busy with a large order and therefore it took so long to cook the burgers and fix...

Read moreThis is similar to the vintage classic drive in fast food and the food is excellent and fits the atmosphere. This is not like a Sonic or McDonald’s, this is food cooked as ordered and has a surprisingly loaded menu of choices considering a lot of these older vintage style restaurants have either given into the assembly line process with no variation or they have cut their menu to complete basics which is understandable but it was a treat to pull in and see all the choices and we ordered a lot of food (two vehicles traveling 4-5 hours and needed something quick to eat but didn’t want run of the mill fast food) Everything we got was absolutely yummy. My favorite was the milkshake! The service was excellent and it was a great opportunity to breath deep and relax, have a few laughs, trade of foods so we all got a taste for everything ordered. If you have a chance to go then take it as these are few and far between! Oh and for the amount of food we ordered the pricing was really a surprisingly low amount as it would have been double to triple the price to eat at any other restaurant in this category without the flair...
