Good drinks, bad energy. Brewster’s has lost its easygoing soul. Used to be one of my favorite laid-back spots — the vibe’s a total buzzkill now, thanks to one staff member who seems determined to a bring hostility to the table every time. Stopped in with friends for a simple afternoon drink. Literally canned beverages. Asked if they had something “like White Claw,” got offered only Truly — even though a big poster advertising what I wanted was right behind me. When I asked to swap not a minute later, the bartender came over to our table, essentially forced me to keep the Truly and snapped that somebody had to pay for this (now open canned beverage), as she stormed away with attitude. It’s wild how one consistently rude, confrontational employee can drag down an entire place but she makes it happen! Save yourself the hassle and take your business elsewhere.

I know Maine is supposed to be the place for seafood. And it is! Just, I don't eat much seafood myself. While visiting Bangor for business I looked for some place local, non-chain. I discovered this little place above the Brewer Motor Inn. First thought the name meant it would be a local brew pub. Instead it is just a friendly little restaurant with great food and even better service. Everything my friend and I had was delicious. Well, almost everything. Neither of us cared for the the french fries as they were overdone. Chili was great, be aware a bowl of chili is a full-size bowl. The boneless buffalo wings were tender and tasty. I had their chicken cordon bleu sandwich, and was very pleased. I spent about $20 on food and came away full. If you're looking for local and delicious, go to Brewster's!

I give the bloody mary 5 stars. The server was right out straight and tables kept coming in. I have 15 years experience in resturant industry including management, so I get it. It is hard to give customers quality experience when your the only server and tables keep rolling in. That being said it would have been nice to have a menu as soon as she had an extra to spare. The server asked for a drink order from a table that arrived after us and provided 2 tables that arrived after us menus. I asked for menu as she passe our table 15mins into our visit. She walked by us twice with menus under her arm and we decided to get the check and head to Geahgans. I recommend 2 servers on Sunday or better training on quality service to all tables. Maybe it was because 2 of my children were young. Who knows. It was poor service to...
