A Taste of the Islands — Restaurant in Brick Township

A hungry Tuesday evening, and I found the most interesting little Caribbean restaurant tucked away in this brick fronted plaza. I was SO glad to stop in! I ordered a platter of jerk chicken, which came over spiced rice and beans along with a potato salad and a cabbage side. I also ordered some empanadas. Let me tell you, the food was out of this world - jerk chicken with a sweetly spicy kick, delicious empanadas with a tender tear, and even the sides were to die for. My Wife is from the Islands, and very picky when it come to food made by someone other than family. Well, I took a shot, never knew this business existed so close to my home. The Owner was very personable, and very professional. I arrived at home and a burst of happiness happened at the dining table. The Wife was very Happy, the Daughter didnt talk, and I sat back and enjoyed them enjoying the food. I've been an Uber driver for this restaraunt before and the owner? was so rude to me and another gentlemen courier that I almost left.

I let this go and decided because I live nearby to try their food myself and give the owner a second chance. Maybe he was having a bad day.

Upon entry to the establishment, the owner was once again cursing out another delivery driver, an older woman, for seemingly no reason to the point she started crying and left. Because of this, I too walked out.
