Returned rotten meat here twice and saw it a few more times. Prices way too high on many products. Ex. A can of Corned beef hash here is $2.89, shoprite sells it for $2.49, a gallon of milk here is $3.89, shoprite sells it for $3.09. I could go on and on, but this place isnt worth my time, or yours. Other than urgent needs situations I'd drive right on by. It now includes a creepy rolling robot that patrols the aisles. There is also a self checkout section and as good as that sounds you often need help because they suffer frequent malfunctions.
Update: Per owners request for additional information; no, I will not be calling, nor opening an email link. The additional details are these: The rotten meats were country style pork ribs and large package of ground beef. The beef situation was odd as it was brown, dark and foul smelling and sat beneath newer meat. It appeared to be intentionally packed that way as it was clearly 2 different layers. With the pork, when the young woman (not the one with the dark glasses) at the service desk opened it to see the tag, it looked like she was going to vomit. She had to look away a couple of times. Perhaps you should ask her about it? I doubt sheās forgotten the experience. As for the dates of each instance, I donāt specifically recall it, but it was October or November for the pork and the beef was in the summer. Neither was marked āmanager specialā. Iām glad and Iām sure your regular customers would appreciate your taking the time to review policies and procedures with your staff and to look at your pricing and to take steps to ensure only the freshest products are on on display and that the prices are fair for the customer base you serve (probably 60% of which are elderly/ retirees on a fixed income). Note I was a regular here at one time. Ironically twice I also found peoples items in your baskets. It was a hand purse and wallet, both with ID & money in them left in your dark brown shopping baskets and in both cases it was an elderly person from Holiday City across the road. In each case I drove their belongings to them. Perhaps change to a brighter color so these folks stop losing their personal belongings. I hope youāre sincere in following up. A month from now Iāll pass through here and take a good look around and post...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been a shopper at the Stop & Shop on Brick Blvd, and unfortunately, my experiences have consistently been frustrating, especially when compared to other stores in the area. Firstly, the pricing is noticeably higher than competitors like Target, Walmart, Trader Joe's, and all other local supermarkets. It often feels like you're paying a premium without receiving a premium experience. A significant point of frustration is the checkout process. There are clearly too few traditional cashiers, forcing most customers to use the self-checkout lanes. The problem is, roughly half of these self-checkout machines are frequently shut down or malfunctioning. When you then try to use your own reusable bags, required by New Jersey law, the system often flags it as an "unexpected item in the bagging area," immediately halting the transaction and requiring an attendant to manually override it. This creates unnecessary delays and lines, defeating the purpose of self-checkout. Adding to this, the attendants at the self-checkout lanes are often not friendly or seem overwhelmed, and like today was buried in her cell phone and I had to make multiple attempts to get her attention politely asking out loud "excuse me ma'am" and waiving my arm just a few feet from her as she continued looking at her phone. While the location might be convenient for some, the high prices, inefficient checkout system, and general atmosphere make shopping here a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to this store. They had a sign that says $3.99 each when you buy two. No mention of needing a club card. I'm new to area. At check it they rang up as $7.69. Ii pressed the help button. No one came over. When I looked around I saw two employees standing at a wall I asked for help. The one that helped was very very rude first telling me to hit finish and pay. Sorry if an item isn't running to right in not going to click finish and pay to agree to wrong price. She then asked if I scan my loyalty card. I explained I'm new to this area and my first time here. Then she raised her voice saying that's how their yellow signs work. However I explained that's not what the sign says and that's not how the law works. She then scanned her card and the price was right. Then she went back talking to her coo worker calling me stupid. Like seriously what happened to customer service. I wasn't rude and at other stores they would have helped me sign up for their loyalty card. But still signage matters legally. I'm ask other started I've been to the sales that require loyalty card clearly states with member card, loyalty card etc. But without that the law says you get that price. So this store needs to...
