Five Guys — Restaurant in Brick Township

Let me be clear that this rating and review is 100% regarding the 5 guys at the brick location. I actually enjoy 5 guys even with there high prices. The Howell one I think I gave 5 stars once. Brick was a huge letdown. I don't feel like writing much more so I'll leave the details out. Cheese was not the usual melted on real tasting and looking cheese. Seemed like the processed bendy kind that is not yellow or white. Burger was not juicy n very small compared to the other 5 guy stores. So much so that the price caught my attention. If I wanted a small fry it would be$3 more. There soda machine didn't carry Mr pibb, which all the others do (best soda mainly down south). I had my burger in about 3 minutes, which I realize is better then waiting but if I wanted fast food I would have gone to a drive thru. It was probably sitting there n thrown in the microwave for weekend ordered it. N the proof in my opinion summing everything up I was still starving after!?! 5 guys in Howell and freehold always have me full after. I was starving...

The food is usually good but they do delivery via Doordash and Doordash customer service is worthless. A cold hamburger and cold fries is garbage. Doordash's policy of allowing delivery drivers to pick up multiple orders from multiple restaurants caused the food to be cold and inedible on delivery. He picked up the order late, drove 20 minutes in the opposite direction from me, delivered another order, and then drove back to me. From the Five Guys tag on the bag the order was delivered an hour and 11 minutes after the food went on the grill. Both the fries and burger were literally room temperature on delivery. Doordash's response was that all they were willing to do was give me a $5.00 credit. Don't use Doordash for any food that needs to be hot. Before this I had a good impression of Five Guys, Doordash could destroy their reputation...

It's really better than 3 stars but I reserve 4 and 5 stars for really positive experiences. That said, this 3 star-review of Five Guys is really a compliment. It's a no frills, quick and easy dinner. Fast but a step above fast food - great value, especially sharing an order of fries. The fries are some of the best around and most importantly - consistent. Load up the burger with toppings, share some fries - you get a home tasting good burger and fries that fills you up. It's really an easy visit, satisfies a burger and fry craving. Milkshakes are good but everyone has their preference. It's kind of like a Frosty and a Malt Shake had a baby. Thick - Flavorful - compliments the fries.
