While driving through Brick, New Jersey, we decided to stop at a newer spot we had heard about — The Spoon and Bowl. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and an incredibly friendly staff that made us feel right at home.
Their menu is impressively extensive — in fact, it was hard (in the best way) to choose what to order because everything sounded amazing. In addition to their regular menu, they also offer a variety of prepared foods.
The food came out quickly, and we were honestly blown away. The portion sizes were huge — I had the pastrami Reuben, and my wife ordered the Jr. Club Joe sandwich on gluten free bread (she has celiac). Both were absolutely delicious! There was so much food that we ended up taking the leftovers home.
One of the highlights of our visit was the kindness of the owner, who brought out watermelon slices for our boys while we finished eating — a thoughtful and appreciated gesture that speaks volumes about the people who work here.
The Spoon and Bowl is a truly wonderful restaurant with wonderful people behind it. Whether you're passing through the area or live nearby, it’s absolutely worth the visit. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you again for a...
Read moreWe came in not long after they opened, I worked across the street for a while so I was really excited to see a soup/sandwich place opening up after Atlanta bread closed. Staff were all so friendly and it was so obvious they were all excited about their new business. I love that it was set up almost like a little market you can get fresh veggies and goods. All the food was amazing. Especially this one salad I forget what it was called. I can’t have leafy greens due to a dietary restriction but salad is my favorite food so it’s difficult to find one I can have. This salad had no greens, topped with some apples and grapes, and smothered with a creamy dressing. Perfect combo of sweet and savory. I dream about this salad at least weekly and I can’t wait to come back for more. So excited you guys showed me a dish I could love without risking the...
Read moreCame here on a whim, after seeing a new place having filled the vacant storefront. In one word? Incredible. An absolutely amazing place for some of the best soups and sandwiches in the area.
The "Thanksgiving Day" soup is like nothing I'd ever had, and literally tasted like eating a part of turkey day dinner with every bite (seriously, one bite might be cranberry sauce, another might be green bean casserole, and it all works in perfect harmony somehow).
The sandwiches here are massive, and well worth the price, especially considering the sheer amount of flavor in these things. I'm fairly sure they lace their pesto bread with addictive substances, because I seriously cannot get enough.
An absolutely welcome (and refreshing!) change from the typical chain food nonsense in town. Well...
