Another visit to Houlihans. My partner had the shrimp scampi and really enjoyed it. I had an impossible burger which, once again, was excessively salty as were the fries which accompanied it. The waitress was overpoweringly NICE.
This is an addition to my previous review: Once again, I was happy for a new Vegetarian item, namely "CRISPY CAULIFLOWER STIR FRY : Housemade General Tso-style sauce tossed with our signature crispy cauliflower over brown rice, stir fried red bell peppers, snow peas." I was excited to try it because I had another vegetarian dish at Houlihan's which would have been great with the addition of hot and crispy cauliflower (asian Chop-chop). Once again, the lack of cooking knowledge resulted in a poorly prepared dish. If one is going to serve something crispy, the last thing one should to is smother it in a sauce. A garnish of two inedible chili peppers was not a good idea, nor was the meagre quantity of bell peppers and snow peas. The rice was also heavily sauced. Just add the appetizer Firecracker Cauliflower to the Asian Chop-chop to make it a Vegetarian dish without the veggieburger on top and it will be a winning dish! My earlier review follows: First of all, I applaud Houlihan's for finally adding a number of Vegetarian items to their menu! Unfortunately, the cooks need a little training in preparing the new items. The Impossible Burger that I ordered on one visit was overcooked ( which I ascertained by contacting the company after describing how the product looked and tasted.) I enjoyed the Farmer's Bowl (?) but the roasted Brussels sprouts were not cooked through. The house wine was good and the service was attentive. My major problem here is the shabbiness of the decor. I can almost wager a bet on its vintage. Definitely from the last century. At least get a new carpet and reupholster the booths? All of that dusty burgundy gets depressing after a...
Read moreAbsolute horrible experience now on multiple occasions. Last 3 times we went the prime rib was half fat. They wanted to make me another piece and it was sold out. This also has happened multiple times that the prime rib was sold out at 7pm after we received an extremely fatty cut? Basically they gave me the last end piece. This should of never been sent out. Kitchen manager came out with a bunch of excuses rather than solutions. She told me order something else and its on us. I ordered the Filet Mignon and that came out really well done. Your a steakhouse and both dishes came out and then the actual manager says "Obviously we can't make you happy and gives me a coupon for a free appetizer". WOW. So I was there for an hour and no food. Horrible service. Despite not eating, I tried to give the bartender a tip on my credit card but I had no bill. A patron (non worker) confronted me and gave me a hard time for not giving a tip (He was obviously intoxicated). I verbally defended myself and just left. Manager call the police while I already left the establishment. Next thing I know 6 cop cars come in and I explained what happened and they said well there is no problem as we can see but I am no longer allowed in the restaurant. I was told I am banned for life at any Houlihan's, mean while she just literally gave me a Free Appetizer coupon for my next visit. So they screwed up 2 dishes back to back, you have a drunk patron give me a hard time over a situation that he had nothing to do with and I get banned from a manager who shouldn't be in that position. Two other customers saw what happened and said to me "The customer service in this restaurant has really gone down hill". I will just go to Longhorns right down the street. Better service and...
