If i could give 6 stars I would. Visiting my grandparents, this place is right down the street from them, but I hadn't paid it any attention in the past because its tucked into a strip mall with a slightly worn/dingy looking exterior. My brother told me to stop here because he had heard it was great via teamtaylornj, and I'm SO happy I did. We ordered TECs which were absolutely 10/10, perfect ratios with a butter-soft roll. The egg bagel with CC was great too. I observed some of the other orders being brought out for lunch (mostly deli/cold-cut type sandwiches, all very hearty portions), and kept thinking wow these look great too. The atmosphere was clean, and staff were beyond friendly, stopping by our table to check how everything was, offering to clean up anything we'd finished (very uncommon in deli's or bagel spots). Other great little details -- the tub of fresh pickles; at the coffee bar, they make fresh pots of coffee when the two start to get low (rather than most places who have big vats, typically stale) -- coffee was strong, delicious, and fresh. I'll be coming back here for breakfast/ lunch any future...
Read moreI have no problem with their food. It is actually very good and you get a good portion. The people working there are nice and friendly. Prices are reasonable.
So why 3 stars?
They are never open when I want to go there, and they have a weird schedule. They're only open 7-4, so unless you're life follows an elementary school schedule, you have to go elsewhere. This is the only deli I know in the State of NJ that is closed on a Sunday. Allenwood General Store, Prime, Colonial, Windward: They're all open on Sundays. That's a lot of income being lost especially with the Home Depot right across the street. Their parking lot can be a pain because it's tight to maneuver sometimes.
I always end up at Prime because they have better hours. 6am to 8pm 7...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE!! I purchased a sandwich and cappuccino today at about 8am. While drinking my coffee, I felt something odd in my mouth so I spit it out, turns out it was a ROACH. I immediately spit it out in my hand. Literally showed to cashier placed it in her hand! “She said omg what is that? It was clearly a roach. I said “ it’s a roach!! The cashier went to the sink and washed her hands..I ran out threw up outside the store and told the lady at the counter there was a big roach in my coffee that I almost consumed. She refunded my money back. I am disgusted and she didn’t seem to be fazed that there was a cockroach in my cappuccino; this is probably not the first time it has happened. Feel sick to my...
