I am puzzled how there are so many great reviews for this establishment. I arrived at the top of the lunch hour and while there were a few getting take out, there was no one eating in. Should have been my first clue. The pizzas in the display case all looked great and I decided to get a Gramma slice along with the eggplant special listed for the day. I also wanted to try the ricotta/spinach calzone. I asked if the eggplant was a platter or a grinder/sandwich, and was told it was a sandwich. Great. Well, there was no grinder, no Italian bread, roll, but what looked to be either pizza or calzone dough made into bread like slices. Interesting. The taste wasn't great and it was difficult to pick up to eat without all falling apart, so I decided to remove the top piece of "bread" and eat it with a fork and knife. There was 1 piece of eggplant, 1 piece on each sandwich half. One. Eggplant Parm is usually cooked and then the slices layered, and usually there are at least 3-4 layers, but not this. The eggplant had many seeds which indicates the eggplant is past its prime-not the freshest -and the seeds add a bitter taste. Not pleasing. Gobs of cheese but detected no Parm. The ricotta spinach calzone was an inedible string of cheese and overcooked spinach. The Gramma slice was ok but I would not return for this. The decor is great and the service was fine, but the food was not good and ended up in the garbage! Ugh! I will not be returning nor recommending

I first found Una Dolce Vita when I went to a concert at the Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater last Friday and they had gelato carts at the entrance! I spoke briefly to the owner, who mentioned they had brick oven NY style pizza at their newly opened restaurant, so I knew I had to come check it out. First of all, I was so impressed with how beautiful this restaurant was and how much work had been put into it. A place like this in Bridgeport is unheard of! All of the pizzas we had were fantastic, and the meat toppings really stood out to us. We tried “speck”, a type of cured ham for the first time, and it was delicious! The “Una Dolce Vita” signature pizza looked like the Italian flag and was such a creative and tasty option. The restaurant has a beautiful bar and even serves gelato in bubble cones - they’re the first place I’ve found in CT that puts gelato in bubble cones! Whether you want a personal pizza, just a slice, or want to branch out and try Sicilian or Grandma style pizzas (which aren’t easy to find in this area may I add), Una Dolce Vita has something for everyone. We will be back!!

Enjoyed their pizza slice display case offering over a dozen varieties of slices with various combinations of toppings. They offer some Sicilian crust slices that have nice crispy crust that are not big. Also, offer delicious pizza wraps that are like a calzone/ stromboli but a thin crust. I had a veggie wrap that was very delicious. Very nice looking espresso bar and Gelato station looked really cool. Can't wait to bring my girls there for Gelato. Staff was very cordial and service was quick.

The food here wasn’t so bad , my family would get pizza from here all the time. But one afternoon we ordered a sicilian cheese as we have done so many times in the past. When we brought it home and too our first bite the dough was gummy and looked uncooked. The bottom of the pizza was very wet with a water liquid not the color or consistency of grease. It looked as if the pizza was just undercooked. This being the only time we ever had an issue i went back to nicely explain our issue and see how we could get it resolved ( either our money back or I was even willing to wait for another pizza) Mind you our pizza i was returning was completely whole minutes the one bit i took out of it. When i went in and explained my issue and showed them the pizza the tall man at the counter got upset and told me he couldn’t do anything because i had bit the pizza i explained that’s how i saw the dough was a little under done because there was a bunch of cheese on top. I pulled the pizza and showed him how gummy it was and how it was wet. He stroked off and got another man from the back shorter with glasses and he told me i was wrong and there wa nothing wrong with the pizza. I explained i always get this pizza and it was never like this. I ended up walking out because i wasn’t about to get into a fight about a $28 pizza. But i feel you should treat your customer better and have a little respect and be kind. I didn’t go in with any hostility i was just looking to get the issue corrected. I will never be going back and it’s a shame because prior to this i never had an...

i am italian from new york. connecticut pizza has disappointed me so badly that i no longer look forward to eating pizza. i was taken to this place with my friends a few days ago. hands down it is the best pizza i have ever had in connecticut. it is everything a pizza should be. light on the sauce, heavy on the cheese, fluffy but crunchy crust. no burnt crust, no cheese sliding off the slice on the first bite, no excessive use of oregano, just a simple pizza the way it should be.

i tried a plain cheese slice. this is always the litmus test for me. in my opinion, if they can't get a plain slice right, they're not gonna get anything else right either. they have plenty of options for toppings. a lot of the options are classic new york toppings like sausage and broccoli rabe and an authentic white pizza. they had some more outlandish toppings as well, but i think as long as they serve the classics they can do whatever else they want.

i also had their pistacio cake and it was delightful. they have tiramisu and it looked great, but i was not in the mood at the moment. i bet it's fantastic though. i also noticed they had hazelnut ice cream, which is a little hard to come by around here. i plan on coming back for it.

great atmosphere, incredibly helpful staff, comprehensive menu, everything you need is already on the table. everything was clean and neat and well-stocked. everyone should try it...
