The Park City has long been known for its cultural vibrancy and rich industrial past, but its dining scene has often lingered in the shadows of neighboring culinary hot spots. That is rapidly changing, thanks to the arrival of 29 Markle Ct, a restaurant that embodies both an elevated approach to modern cuisine and the warm, welcoming spirit that defines Bridgeport’s resurgence.
From the moment you step inside, you sense something special: the walls are adorned with eclectic artwork, and the atmosphere positively hums with convivial energy. The friendly, attentive staff greet you like old friends, deftly guiding you to your seat and making you feel at home before you even see a menu.
Once you do, prepare for a feast of thoughtfully composed dishes that celebrate locally sourced ingredients. The Caesar Salad, a seemingly simple staple, arrives with crisp Gem lettuce, toasted panko, and perfectly aged Parmesan—a testament to the kitchen’s belief that impeccable ingredients, handled with skill, can transform even the familiar into something revelatory.
Then there is the Lobster Ravioli, a standout creation nestled in a robust bouillabaisse sauce so reminiscent of Marseille that you might momentarily forget you are dining in Connecticut. Silky pockets of pasta reveal succulent chunks of lobster, while the fragrant, oceanic depth of the sauce hints at the kitchen’s deft hand in melding classic techniques with local bounty. The result is a dish that is as luxurious as it is authentically flavorful.
While the menu brims with crowd-pleasers (smoked delicacies, seasonal vegetables, and comforting classics), it is the restaurant’s affable ambiance that truly sets it apart. Seamless, enthusiastic service underscores the warmth that 29 Markle Ct brings to the table: you feel as though your enjoyment of each course is a shared achievement.
With a commitment to quality and a heartfelt embrace of its surrounding community, 29 Markle Ct easily ranks among the top restaurants in Fairfield County. More than just a place to dine, it is a beacon of Bridgeport’s ongoing renaissance—one that beckons both curious locals and traveling epicureans to experience the evolving flavors of the Park City. After a meal here, you leave not just sated, but also hopeful for the future of this ever-rising...
Read moreThis was our first experience dining at 29 Markle Court and was the catalyst for our desire to continue visiting in the future!!
Catherine greeted us on our arrival and was a thoughtful, knowledgeable, and positive presence throughout the evening.
We were originally intending on some simple refreshment at the outset, but...Catherine recommended several of their creative "mock-tails" and, wisely, we followed her lead. They were delicious. There were two drinks delivered - a hibiscus-themed libation, and a pineapple/ginger/turmeric combination, which immediately became favorites to be remembered.
Our first course consisted of a rather ample Caesar salad, dusted with panko crumbs and an umami-like parmesan confetti. Also...perhaps the best roasted beet dish, ever, was served in a small tower, highly chopped with inclusions of herbs, mustard seed on the surface, and walnuts. I've had "beet salads" at many restaurants, but this one rose to a higher plane.
This was followed by two orders of short ribs, which were prepared to perfection - sporting a thoroughly flavor-filled crust with an absolutely pliant, melt-in-your-mouth interior. This delicious preparation was plated atop a potato purée and served with a nest of braised savoy cabbage.
Catherine was a delightful presence who kept a respectful distance as we ate, but always chose the perfect moment to check on our satisfaction
The meal was topped off with an elegant expresso and an apple tart / vanilla gelato dessert that was the perfect ending to a perfect meal.
Finally... the restaurant chef-de-cuisine, Damian, came over to the table for a professional introduction and an inquiry about the quality of our experience. Damian is a talented, wonderful chef!!
We were delighted to also notice that 29 Markle Court was a close-knit, black-owned, elegant, and upscale restaurant, whose owners and staff we wish many years of...

I recently dined at Markle on a Friday evening with four friends, and it was an unforgettable experience. Our waiter, Sahmra, stood out for her impressive knowledge of the menu, attentiveness to dietary restrictions, and thoughtful suggestions. The cocktails were a highlight—my personal favorite, the "Apple A Daye," was a light and refreshing delight, reminiscent of the first day of summer. The "Carrot Top" with the option to add stout, rum, or both quickly became a table favorite, and the "Trip to Jamaica" offered a unique experience, especially with the option of a "round trip" shot.
The skilled bartenders at Markle truly elevate the dining experience, offering a diverse range of cocktails and equally delightful mocktail options for non-drinkers. Now, let's talk about the food—each dish was a symphony of flavors, from the succulent chicken to the perfectly executed scalloped risotto. The atmosphere was heightened by the silence around the table as we savored every bite.
Markle has undoubtedly earned a place on my list of go-to restaurants. The combination of exceptional service, creative cocktails, and mouthwatering dishes ensures I'll be returning for another memorable dining experience. Cheers to Markle for a night filled with culinary delight!
Additionally, a noteworthy aspect of our dining experience at Markle was the personal touch of the chef visiting each table. It added a special touch to the evening, as the chef took the time to inquire about our dining satisfaction. This personal interaction showcased a commitment to ensuring every guest's experience was not only delicious but also tailored to their preferences. It's this attention to detail that further sets Markle apart, making it a restaurant that values the connection between the culinary team and...
