Jean's Cuisine — Restaurant in Bridgeport

On 3/19/22 I went to Jean's cuisine to order some food. I've been there before, the food was good, place was clean etc.. that's why ai went back. This time my experience was just terrible. While I stood in line and waited 10 minutes in line just to #1 to be served, some guy came and cut me off, lady behind the counter said to him, you haven't ordered yet. He said I'm in a hurry and started ordering his food, the lady just helped him without saying anything. Ok cool, she dropped the ball, while I'm still #1, another lady came behind me and said to the lady behind the counter " should I come and order my food? " to my surprise her response was " oh I'm checking out someone ( the guy that cut me off ) I'll be with you when I'm done with him " Now, as soon as she's done with the guy that cut me off, I approached the counter and took my order. Now while waiting before I ordered, she helped a guy that came after me, but he had ordered over the phone. Why that guy could not wait in line to pay for his food? is beyond me. I also watched another lady that came after me that had already ordered get cashed out. Now, one would think that I would get my food before the lady ordered after me right? WRONG, they gave her food before me, and I'm watching, my food is ready, yet they cashed her out. At this point, I'm heated and ready to walk out, but the counter lady notice my frustration and knows they're wrong, and she said, you can get in line, your food is ready. Although upset, I was about to get in line to get cashed out, But of no, another surprise, now they are taking the order of a brand new customer that just walked in. I JUST WALKED OUT OF THE PLACE, AND LEFT THE FOOD THERE FOR THEM TO DEAL WITH. At least I did not pay ahead of time. THIS IS A HAITIAN PROBLEM, IF THEY KNOW YOU THEY THINK IT'S OK, FOR THEM TO TREAT YOU 1ST AND BEND THE RULES, I SAY NO, IT'S UNFAIR. EVERYBODY'S TIME IS VALUABLE, NOT JUST THE ONE YOU KNOW. Just finished eating takeout from Jean’s Cuisine. I am so glad we took the trek to try their food. Why didn’t we know about this little gem before now. Our dinner was so good. So tasty. So delicious. We ordered the Pwason with Diri Djon Djon (Fried Snapper with Black Rice) and the Tasso Kibrit with Diri Djon Djon (Fried Goat Chunks and Black Rice). Did we mention the Pikliz and Sauce? This has to have been one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. Every item on our plates were full of flavor and seasoned to the T. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. If you are looking to try their Black Rice, make sure you go after 5 PM. They don’t sell it until after 5. The lady at the register was very friendly, so that made our ordering process much better. There might be a little bit of a language barrier on both sides, so keep that in mind when going. Also, make sure to look menu up online before you go because there aren’t any menus at the restaurant. Be careful they will judge you how ever they person in front is and feel like it and communicate and they will overcharge you then the menu price in my case they even told me the price in their language, which is Haitian Creole and I responded. Can I get three and they charged me double the price for each I paid for it anyway because I was just disgusted because she really thought I was cheating me, but she was cheating herself and business she is working for or her family is working for. Just because she made an assumption that my creole was short-lived and I didn’t understand numbers or didn’t understand clearly how much she was charging me, but I knew exactly what she was doing. It is what it is just be aware and make sure you’re paying for what you’re supposed to pay for they will teach youand it’s sad because they should not be cheating any of their customers especially if it’s a business that’s been going for such a period of time you would think that they’re doing something right to at least charge everybody fairly specially in...
