Magical Fantasia — Restaurant in Bridgeport

Do not walk, RUN to this haven!!!!! I don’t write many reviews but I had to about here. I didn’t know what to expect when my wife found this place from facebook and said get me 4 bombo donuts to try. But after getting back in my car and Devouring 2 donuts I had to head back in and get 2 more. Only issue is when I went back in I came out with an additional 4 cookies, 2 cheesy/savory Pies, and 2 refreshers; 1 mango passion fruit and 1 Mixed Fruit punch.

Lets start with the donuts. Each and every one that I tried I wanted seconds. The generosity of the filling and toppings goes along perfect with the softest and puffiest donuts I have ever eaten. Dunkin donuts and any shop that makes donuts like them are no competition or comparison whatsoever. This place makes the best donuts I or my wife has ever had. And considering I grew up in NJ and My wife in NY, we have had our fair share of excellent donuts and this place tops them all any day.

Now with the cookies I thought okay they’re cookies they’ll be like this place or this brand, and I was happily mistaken. These cookies are so full of flavor without tasting overpowered you could eat them one after the other. One of the cookies was ure. Idk if I’m saying that correct but it tasted like a fresher chocolate chip cookie with a hint of french vanilla; and quite frankly its hard to even decide a favorite among the many choices.

On to the cheesy savory pies. Just for explanation imagine an empanada/beef patty. However imagine a 5 star dinner inside if those patties. I got 1 beef and 1 chicken, however the flavors that came out of them reminded me of a home cooked meal. As soon as I got back in the car my wife goes huge inhale/exhale, “what is that smell. Did you get dinner in there too?” The beef pie tasted almost like greatest potpie known to existence. And the chicken one. The closest thing I can compare it to is the most seasoned and flavorful rotisserie chicken you will ever try.

And last but certainly not least, the refreshers. I honestly got them just to try and compare them to the refreshers i get at dunkin or should I say used to get. These are truly refreshing with real fruit inside, and the flavor? I cannot even describe them to you other than, WOW!!

Make your way in here and your diet and pockets will certainly hate you, because you will not be able to contain yourself without trying everything in this shop. And speaking of I was only able to try even a quarter of what this place has to offer, and I most definitely will be back. I got lost in the food i forgot to mention the kind and excellent service you will receive when you walk in. I would have posted pictures if there was anything left. Glad I came to Google maps first to figure out exactly where it was. I knew to look for the large OPEN sign. It's right across from the dollar general street, on the corner of Fairfield Ave and west ave. I parked on west Ave. I saw a parking lot, but I wasn't sure if that was for customers or residents. Inside, it still looks like they are figuring out what to do with the space. Ample room for tables and chairs for eat-in guests, but also for hosting parties as well. The display case had a tray and a half of donuts remaining(remains of a busy day! Good for ya'll!), a case of empanadas (beef and cheese, and chicken Parmigiano). Also had a display of cookies - coconut and chocolate chip. The young lady there greeted me as I entered through the door. Caught me off guard, I'm not used to that in Bridgeport- lol! But if you've read my other reviews you know that puts you on my A list almost immediately. She told me every flavor of donut and cookie. She packed everything very neatly and carefully. Cookies are individually wrapped which is great for sharing! I was wrung up with my card on her phone app, and out the door seamlessly. I tasted a bit of each item I bought. All were great, tasty and fresh. The chocolate chip, which I thought would be my fave, didn't come close to the coconut which I bought on a whim! The chocolate chip tasted kinda preservative-ish.. way better than crumbl, but still actually not beating a simple McDonald's cookie. I'll heat up the other half and see if that changes my opinion. But that coconut macadamian was a goodness that couldn't be beat. It was a pleasant surprise, a winner. The donuts - I had a strawberry banana, I'm not usually into the fruity flavors, but that filling was fire! It was custardy, creamy, almost like a banana cheesecake flavor to it...I tell ya, I'll be back for that one. And the Nutella was great...I liked the peice of chocolate atop it, I think there was caramel inside?? The donut itself was amazing... but can you really go wrong with nutella... ?! It was just right... and I loved the sugar on the donuts.. lite and sweet and provided that perfect little sandy crunch in your mouth. I hope this shop thrives and only grows bigger and better. Disappointed with my overall experience as a first-time customer. I submitted a preorder before the store opened. I arrived a few minutes after my designated pickup time only to find that my preorder had not even been made yet. The worst part was no one was in the front or came out to greet me for about 10-15 minutes because she was in the back preparing two walk in orders that were placed after mine. Once she finally came out, it took another 10 minutes to receive my order. Although customers are encouraged to preorder to reduce wait time, it seems like walk ins get served sooner (at least in my case). The owner thanked me for my patience but didn’t take accountability for her mistake or apologize for the inconvenience. When I asked for the earliest pickup time, I should have been given a time that was feasible (especially if walk in orders are prioritized over preorders). Not sure if I’ll return, but the donuts were pretty good. Our favs were the cookies and cream and vanilla birthday cake flavors. I would suggest adding more whipped cream and vanilla to the banana pudding mixture. Wish I could have left a better review,...
