I had a doctor's appointment at UHC this day and decided to try this restaurant out afterwards. I was impressed by the atmosphere and definitely impressed with the menu. My waiter was ok but not the best and slow to get to me. He finally returned to my table and I ordered the deep fried banana peppers for appetizer. As I was once again waiting on him to return to my table to get my main dish order, I noticed customers that had came in after me, getting their food. After about an hour, he returns to my table and I order a pasta dish. I was not impressed that a side salad was not included with the meal, however I ordered one anyways. After about 30 minutes, he brings out my appetizer AND my salad, which I was disappointed because I had ordered my appetizer first and expected it to be served first. 5 minutes later and before I even got to enjoy my appetizer, must less my salad, my entree came. So there went any chance of me enjoying my appetizer plus I like eating my salad before my entree too. Did not happen! I was traveling that day a ways from my home so even though my entree looked like SOUP, I attempted to twirl the spaghetti noodles, with absolutely NO flavor because all the so called sauce and vegetables were on top, I managed to eat it anyways. I did not order a "pasta soup"🤔 plus I had not finished my salad and appetizer was not touched. After about getting half way through my entree, my bowl was nothing but broth with absolutely no flavor. I had managed to eat most of it but NO, it was not good. I talked with the manager and explained all my concerns but he just replied and told me I should have told him from the beginning of this horrible experience. I did not have time to sit another hour so I very nicely, with a fake smile, thanked him for his time. Paid my very expensive bill and left the establishment. My daughter and son in law referred this place to me but I probably will not return.

9.18.21 Absolutely disheartening to read a COVID statement on the front page of Mia Margherita’s website and show up to see none of the staff or customers wearing masks. The outside patio was only partially full, and we were seated in a corner away from the other tables. When our waitress approached, I asked if she was going to wear a mask and she ignored the question and asked for our drink orders. At that point I asked if she was vaccinated, and she replied that my asking was “a hipaa violation”, at which point we all three replied simultaneously “No, it’s not”. Not off to a good start, but then my wife asked her if she would feel comfortable putting on a mask while she was waiting on the table. She replied that she did not feel comfortable wearing a mask and would not put one on. At this point I left to get the car, with my wife and friend still seated at the table. The manager, unmasked, came over to the table, stood beside them until my wife asked her to keep her distance, and loudly said "you have your beliefs and we have ours," as a way of defending the decision for not masking the staff. The choice of the word “beliefs” made it sound as though they are — and I think they are — part of a science-denying cult. At this point in the pandemic, West Virginia has the highest incidence per capita of Covid-19 in the country. Hospitals are full to overflowing with Covid patients. This restaurant has a Covid policy on its website stating that it places the highest priority on the safety of its customers. What a dangerous and misleading claim. I recommend that anyone who cares about their own health at this time look for a different restaurant.

Mia Margherita has always been a wonderful place to dine, but I recently had an experience that I still talk about. My mother was having a bad day, not feeling very well due to her R.A. and pain. We had her Emotional Support Dog with us (DIFFERENT than a Service Dog), but I really wanted to take her to this place to make her smile. I went into the restaurant by myself at first and waited in line until I was able to speak to the hostess. I asked if my mother's dog could come in if we sat in their gated, covered patio. She told me that of course he was welcome, they welcome all service dogs. Now, I could've just said thank you and gone to get the rest of my party, but I couldn't lie like that. I told her that no, he was NOT a Service Dog, he was an Emotional Support Animal and that, legally, they didn't have to let him in. She asked what the difference was and I explained the important differences to her. She was really grateful to hear what I had to say and then she went and spoke to her manager, telling this person what I told HER. They still granted us access even though they didn't have to. Both the hostess and the manager went above and beyond, reaching out to someone who just needed to have a better day. I am thankful to the restaurant and amazing staff and would recommend Mia Margherita to everyone!

Seriously disappointed in the service tonight. We were really looking forward to an impromptu late meal with the family. We got there shortly after 8pm ordered by 8:20pm did not get our pizza and hoagie until almost 9:15pm almost an hour!

There were two tables seated, served and finished before we got our food. The waitress came back to the table after what was already a ridiculous wait to apologize for the food taking so long, first she didnt know what the hold up was, then later claiming there was a 'late rush' (not really there were a lot of empty tables and not that many people came in after us). Not to mention watching our pizza finally come up and our waitress standing having a chat with another server for another couple minutes while it sat there on the service area... AND my husband's and my hoagie although was nice and warm on the top was ice cold inside with the glop of hard cheese holding all the meat together, because I believe it sat there while they got around to making our son's pizza, (one of which the crust was charcoal on one side. So no I wasn't impressed at all.

To top it off even though our food was extremely late, we had all of a few minutes to take a few bites and the waitress came back twice asking if we were all done and could she box up our food! REALLY!

I have worked in the food service industry I can tell you with almost certainty that our ticket got misplaced or part of our order got served to another table and had to be remade (probably the 4 top that wasn't far from us and seated after us that had their food in record time). It had nothing to do with any late rush and instead of being honest about it and at least offering us a discount made excuses and then tried to rush us out with barely any time to eat at all. I will not be back!

A good server would have made sure we got a discount, free drinks, or desert, for what she knows was horrible service, but she didn't even offer anything. My kids didn't want me to say anything because they eat there a lot and this was the first time they experienced such crappy service, so I bit my lip and didn't speak at all when she asked if we needed anything and if the food was ok, but no it wasn't and neither was the service.

At a restaurant that charges $20 for a 16 inch pizza and $10 for a hoagie with a $2 up charge for fries instead of chips I expect better quality food and service than I could have gotten at pizza hut, in a timely manner.

UPDATE: Despite the reply to my review from Mia Margarita promising to make it right, I had already used the contact us on the website and sent almost this exact review and got no response whatsoever... And I have since emailed the individual who responded and still have gotten no response. Hollow promises....

Recently visited on my travels to try this place out. Pizza looked great and I'm all about coal or wood fired pizza! The location is beautiful and the atmosphere is fantastic. One of the most awesome ovens I've ever seen!! So very high hopes. I was greeted and seated immediately. Server brought a menu and took my drink order right away. But it was all downhill from there. I ordered the Quattro Formaggio pizza. Which is a four cheese pizza. And said nice and crispy please. When it finally arrived, the crust had a couple light charred areas around the edges and was covered in wonderful looking combo of cheese! The slices were super thin, as I like, but unfortunately floppy and chewy! There was a ton of cheese but unfortunately again, very weak flavor! To say the least, Very Disapointing!! My server never returned after bringing my pizza and the other staff just walked by and never spoke. An older gentlemen, I assume the owner or manager, came out and spoke to a few people he seemed to know, but my glass sat empty on the edge of the table in plain sight. I finally managed to catch the eye of my server and held up my empty glass. He waved and nodded his head. But by the time he brought a refil I was ready to go and asked for a box for my remaining pizza. This also took another 10 minutes or more. He had the check so I gave him my card, which he took straight to the POS. Where he took another 5 or more minutes. I was truly getting nervous about what he was doing so long with my card. Fortunately, I get alerts on every transaction instantly... He returned my card and bill to sign. No Thank you or anything else! I signed, left a reasonable tip for the service.... maybe he was having a bad day. Anyways.... the place has tons of potential, unfortunately it's not...
