Let me start by saying that the staff were incredibly kind and apologetic, and they said how hard it’s been to get and keep staff, but… Our room was filthy. It smelled terrible, there was hair in the beds, old and used soaps left in the shower, wrappers and other trash around the corners of the room, and mold in some of the drawers. I’ve never, ever asked for a different room at a hotel before, but I did this time. When we shared the state of the room with the front desk, they were very apologetic, but said that they didn’t have any other rooms except one smaller room that was “cleaned” by the same employee, so they knew it wouldn’t look any better (it seemed like they’ve run into this issue before). Then they found one other available room which they said was cleaned by someone else who “does a better job.” We took it since there wasn’t any trash on the ground. However, one of the beds was filthy, too, with brown stains, crumbs, and small black hairs all over the sheets. Both this and the previous room looked like they made the beds, but they hadn’t put on fresh sheets after the last guests left. We ended up sleeping on top of the sheets on the one clean bed in the room in the clothes we’d worn all day because we didn’t want to get any of our clean clothes dirty. This whole debacle took nearly two hours. They told us that if we’d booked through them directly, they would’ve given us a free stay, but they couldn’t as we booked through a third party. However, we didn’t use any other service; we booked our stay directly on their website. Despite telling them this and showing them our payment, they said it didn’t show that way on their system, and they couldn’t do any better than a percentage off our next stay. But I don’t think we’ll be staying here again to redeem that offer unless we really need to. Thankfully we only needed to sleep here one night and didn’t need to stay longer than a few...
Read moreMicrotel Bridgeport ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My husband and I stayed here in early October 2025. The price of hotels on our route, have gone up considerably, and we had not stayed in a Microtel for years. This hotel was priced a little lower than some of the others yet still looked promising. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️We were very pleasantly surprised as it was better than expected in every way. I asked if there was a fridge in our room because we were travelling with some food and the lady at the front desk was kind enough to switch us into a room that had a fridge without hesitation. The room was a double, quite large, very clean and comfortable and we slept very well while saving our cheese overnight 😃👍🏻 The next night, we stayed in another Microtel (Walterboro) but it was definitely NOT up to the standards of this one. We will not stay there again. 🤪 I soon realized, I had left my electric toothbrush in behind in its case. I called the hotel and spoke with the assistant manager, and Steve immediately called around to see if it had been turned in. I didn’t have high hopes and again was so pleasantly surprised 😃 to be told that Samantha 🤩 had turned it in. I offered to cover the mailing fee, if he would be kind enough to mail it to me. There was no hesitation. It only turned out to be $15 and I received it a few days later in the same condition I had left it and very well packaged. We will definitely plan to stay here again and I’d like to express my gratitude to everyone at this Microtel, but especially a big thank you to Steve and Samantha for their honesty and willingness to go the extra mile for a random customer....
Read moreWe upgraded at our cost and the room and bathroom we got were not as pictured on website. NO counter space in the bathroom and sink doesn’t drain. Toilet runs. No extra staff in the evening. Towels replaced every 3 days, but do not dry over night. Had to go down and get them myself. Slowest elevator I’ve seen. Internet is poor to non existent. Crumbs left on carpet upon arrival. For extended stays only 2 drawers for essentials in a suite. Had to get new keys twice in 2 days. Infested with stink bugs. Dead bugs and cobwebs in window sill. Bugs crawling all around the room. I called the desk and was told they don't bite. We were told from the desk they come in through air conditioning and that other rooms would have the same problem. It didn't seem worth the effort to change rooms, since this is apparently an issue throught the hotel. We have stayed at another place in town, a mile up the road, that had no issue with any bugs. There was no offer to come in and clean up the bugs. Thin walls. Woke up by neighbors slamming cupboards and were called to turn our tv down (on 14). TV difficult to operate. Frequently turns off. Noise from the highway. Asked for late check out and were told it costs extra. Don’t pay extra for parking, there’s plenty. While staff was personable, I would...
