After reading some of the not-so-stellar reviews, I went into this visit with an open mind, and I’m glad I did. Overall, this Wendy’s pleasantly surprised me.
Atmosphere – 4/5 The exterior of the building looked modern and inviting—definitely more updated than some older Wendy’s locations. I also noticed a nice little patio seating area out front, which is a bonus on a nice day. Walking in, I did detect a faint odor—it wasn’t overpowering or foul, just a little off-putting, like grease or possibly sweat. That said, the place looked very clean and well-kept. The floors were shiny (though a bit sticky—might want to rinse more thoroughly during mopping), and all the tables were wiped down. The interior has a fresh, modern design with wood-look flooring and bright lighting. One standout touch was the small patriotic white Christmas tree with red, white, and blue decorations in the lobby—an unexpected and charming detail that gave the space personality.
Another pleasant surprise was the built-in glass gas fireplace along the wall in the dining area. While it wasn’t turned on during my visit (understandable for summer), I can imagine it adds a warm, cozy ambiance during the winter months. It’s a classy touch you don’t typically expect in a fast-food spot.
Service – 5/5 This was a highlight of the visit. I was greeted by a friendly young woman at the counter who had a genuine smile and took a moment to make small talk, asking how my day was going. That simple gesture made a big difference—it’s rare in fast food these days. My order was taken quickly and accurately, and it came out just as fast. I ordered my burger without ketchup (a detail many places miss), and to my surprise, it was prepared perfectly.
While dining, I met Lana, the regional manager. She was incredibly engaging and clearly taking pride in her work. She oversees six Wendy’s locations and genuinely seems to care about improving customer service and employee morale. It was refreshing to see management so hands-on and passionate about making a difference.
Food – 4/5 I ordered a classic single cheeseburger, and it was fresh, well-prepared, and neatly assembled. Visually, it looked good, and it tasted just as it should—juicy and flavorful. The only minor drawback was the fries; while still tasty, they could have been hotter and a little crispier. Not a dealbreaker, but something to improve upon.
Final Thoughts With so many fast-food chains slipping in quality over the years, it was great to see a Wendy’s location that feels like it’s getting back on track. Between the clean and modern atmosphere, fast and friendly service, and a well-made meal, this visit left me with a positive impression. I hope they keep the...
Read moreBeautiful location for a Wendy's, however and I do mean this with the most respect I can possibly muster. The employees here are seriously some of the most incompetent even for Clarksburg, on the same level as the Emily Dr Taco Bell. Multiple experiences one after the other and I think only one of them came out as expected. I love Wendy's but this one isn't it, doesn't seem to follow the always fresh food policy very well at all as I've gotten some of the dryest food ever from here. And a more specific example we waited 25 minutes for a drive through order that was only 20 dollars, literally only two medium sized combos, and then when they came up to the car after parking us the guy asked "is this your food?" We then read our receipt back to him in full and asked "is that this?" He responded, "I don't know" and stared blankly at us....what do you mean you don't know? We are the only customers, the line is empty and you should be checking what's actually in the bag anyway before walking out of the store. Just overall not a great Wendy's at all, hoping they improve as there isn't...
Read moreVery poor service after 7 when the dinning room closes. You have cars all over the place to get orders. They should have people outside to take your orders then park you in a numbered spot to then bring you the food. Also the app should allow curbside pick up and not dine in, carry out, or drive thru. It would be nice if the app can alert the location you are ther so while waiting in the long line they can start your order. I waited 30 minutes to get the the speaker. Then was told to wait. Once 5 minutes passed the girl came back and that's when I could say I had a mobile order. Went to window was handed drinks told to pull up to the door. Another 12-15 minutes pass before the food comes so the drinks ice are melted now as I'm not going to waste gas idling. All the was ordered was a strawberry salad, baked potato, trippl burger, fries, and two cookies. They always blame not enough help. I worked fastfood and even short staffed we made sure food was always available to notice people wait...
