Yesterday I went to Terminal 3 in the afternoon around 2. I was looking forward to having some great food as I did before. As I walked pulled up, I noticed that the lot was full, there was loud music, there were people outside on the patio, and I assumed there was an event going on. Before going in, I bent down and tied my laces on my shoes close to the entrance (fits into the storyline later). When I walked in, there were 3 employees at the (two young men and a young lady), talking. One was security. I asked there was private party, if so, I could leave. They said there was a party going on, but I could come in and but there was a $5 cover charge. Security I assume, then stated that I looked tired. I said yes, I was working in the heat today and tired from that. It was over 80 degrees. He then stated that he needed to check my purse before going in and did so. As I walked in, I noticed it was pretty full, decorated for a party. I noticed there was also a woman with a baby with a stroller by the bar, and small kids at a bar top with adults. I walked and stood by the short side of the bar, deciding if I wanted to stay and if so, where would I sit to eat. As I was viewing the area, a lady with a birthday hat standing at the bar asked if I needed something. I told her I was looking for somewhere to sit. I saw a young man cleaning off a table and asked if the table was available. He said yes and after he was done clearing the table, I sat down. Within minutes of sitting, the waitress, and I assume bartender, came around and brought me a water. She also told me that 'they' at the front door wanted to speak with me. This happened all less than 5 minutes of walking into the establishment. I walked to the front and the security again told me that I looked out of it. I reiterated that I had been working in the heat. He stated, yes 'Yes, you told me that'. He then stated' You stumbled when you first came in. I told him I did not stumble. I did go down to tie my shoes. He states, I'm worried if you leave out of here, something will happen to you, if you drink. He states, I cannot let you drink and will have to ask you to leave. The other guy at the door gave me my money back. After getting back into my vehicle, I called the bar immediately to speak to the owner about my experience. After listening the owner said she will call immediately to speak to security about what happened. By that time, I arrived at another establishment in the area, about 5 minutes away. The owner called back and stated that security witnessed me stumbling and was concerned about something happening to me if I drink. Points I brought up: -I did not stumble; I tied my shoelaces before entering the establishment. -I never said I was there to drink, I sat at a table -When I sat down at a table, and had only been served water, I had not touched nor requested a drink before being called to the front. -I had been in the establishment less than 5 minutes. The owner told me that the next time I came, my food would be on the house. Today's experience and actions was discriminatory. I had been refused service with no sound reason. Are the same practices held in place for others, for instance, some that have had a long day at work? Or they refused service because they don't have a certain look? If security was so concerned about my well-being, why did he allow me in? Or why did he not call EMS, if it was that serious? As stated, I drove to another establishment 5 minutes away and had no issues. I was not questioned about the how I looked 'out of it'. I was treated with respect, ate my food and I left. I visited Terminal 3, months before on a Friday evening and had a great time with two others. The band, food, and drinks were great, and I even had a short conversation with the owner while sitting there. I eventually paid for a tab between us three for over $100 and went home with no issue. I hope this establishment finds a way to end their discriminatory practices or hire...
Read moreI was hopeful. The food was good and hot, no complaints there. $13.99 for 6 whole wings and a scoop of fries and bread. Charged an additional $1.00 for bourbon wings that they end up not even having, but whatever, whatâs $2.00 right. $25.00 for a top shelf MargaritaâŚin a plastic cup. Not really sure if my top shelf was really Don Julio Reposado or not, but I know I woke up with the worst headache ever and Iâve never had that happen from Don Julio. I have Don at home on my mini bar, itâs never been an issue. Letâs talk about this automatic gratuity. I am a tipper, and have no problem doing so, but if youâre going to add an automatic tip to the bill, make sure you give people giving tip worthy service. Our server was nice, but you can tell she either didnât want to be there or had alot going on upstairs. She never checked on us and every thing we needed we had to get her attention for assistance. I tipped her $20 up front before she was even done taking our order not knowing 16% gratuity was going to be added to my bill, then she had the nerve to turn the card reader around to the tip portion towards me and didnât say a word about gratuity included. I clicked no tip because I tipped in cash prior to closing out but how about letting the patrons know the tip is automatically applied. I never got a full menu, I had to look online to see what I wanted to order. $99.98 for 2 chicken wing plates, 2 drinks and 2 bottles of water is diabolical at a bar and grill. I never mind spending money, but yâall wild. I got Miami drink prices and no beach or beach service. The crowd appeared to be in their 20âs, if thatâs your type of jam. The DJ was def on point. Now let me go take some ibuprofen for this headache from the âDon Julioâ top...
Read moreLong postâ- Saw this place on channel 2. Was anxious to try it. Website said opens at 11 am 7 days a week. Went on a Monday. Not open on Mondays , did tell someone and they apologized and said they would change the website. Went back on a Saturday ay noon. They had a DJ. Entirely too loud for a brunch/early day setting. Had to almost yell to hear each other. Not my type of music, music for folks under the age of 40. Only serves 3 meals on Saturday brunch and a few ala cart items. Even though they give you the entire menu. They should only give you the menu of exactly what you can order and advertise what is served on Saturday brunch. They put my waffle in a basket for fries (plastic with holes in it) and a piece of thin foil sheet in the bottom. Well when you cut the waffle, you tear the foil and then the syrup runs through the holes on the table ⌠I had to put my chicken wings on napkin because it wasnât room in the basket ⌠can we just get a plate???!!!! Also the syrup container was covered in syrup. Handle, sides and top where it had run down. A sticky mess. My husband ordered ala cart. Sausage patties, tip potatoes and biscuits. Everything came in separate containers. They did put his sausage on a real plate. Was told they donât have biscuits just Hawaiian rolls đł. One good thing, the food was good. The service was good.
This is definitely not a place for children and folks who just want a nice low key brunch where you can have a nice low conversation..at least not on Saturday at noon. However it is a nice place (bar) for a younger crowd where the employees dress code is not an issue and you donât mind...
