I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hills of Herat, and I must say it was an exceptional experience that surpassed all expectations. This hidden gem has truly won my heart with its delectable selection of chicken, beef, and lamb dishes, and the warmth and generosity of its owners made the evening even more memorable.
From the moment we stepped inside, the inviting ambiance of the restaurant welcomed us with open arms. The staff was attentive and friendly, creating an atmosphere that made us feel right at home. But what truly set Hills of Herat apart was the genuine care and hospitality displayed by the owners themselves.
During our conversation with the owners, they discovered that our two guests were newlyweds. This small detail seemed to strike a chord with the owners, and they went above and beyond to make their dining experience truly unforgettable. Not only did they shower us with personalized attention, but they also surprised the newlyweds with a complimentary dessert. It was a delightful gesture that truly touched our hearts and showcased the owners' dedication to making every customer feel special.
Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Hills of Herat offers a tantalizing variety of chicken, beef, and lamb dishes, each prepared with utmost care and precision. The flavors were simply divine, and every bite was a burst of culinary delight. The chicken was tender and succulent, the beef was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, and the lamb was incredibly flavorful and melt-in-your-mouth tender.
One standout dish that I highly recommend is the lamb chop. The marinated meat was grilled to absolute perfection, resulting in a dish that was both juicy and incredibly aromatic. Each bite was a revelation, leaving a lasting impression on my taste buds. Accompanied by fragrant rice and a medley of perfectly spiced vegetables, it was a true feast for the senses.
The attention to detail and the use of high-quality ingredients in every dish at Hills of Herat is evident. It's clear that the owners take immense pride in their craft, and their passion shines through in the impeccable flavors they deliver to their customers.
In addition to the outstanding food and warm hospitality, the prices at Hills of Herat are surprisingly reasonable, considering the exceptional dining experience they offer. The value for money is excellent, making it a top choice for both casual meals and special occasions.
In conclusion, Hills of Herat is a culinary haven that combines exquisite flavors with a genuine passion for hospitality. The delicious chicken, beef, and lamb dishes are expertly prepared, and the owners' down-to-earth nature and caring attitude create an atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the family. I highly recommend visiting Hills of Herat for an unforgettable dining experience that will leave you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to this place yesterday with my family. When placed an order manger who took the order asked if he can change order to one big plate rather brining in to separate plates without knowing what he meant we said yes. When food arrived rice were not enough for five people even not enough for three people. I asked waiter if we can get more rice he said there will be charge when I refused to pay he told manger hey want more rice but donāt want to pay. Manager immediately brought more rice but their attitude changed right away. Waiter never came back to our table if we need anything. We had to asked for everything including sauces which supposed to be on the table. When asked for extra naan he didnāt mentioned after complementary naan they charge $2 for each naan which I found out when bill arrived. We used salad plates for our main food because they didnāt bother to bring large plates. When we were done waiter with ponytail rather preferred to wipe utensils then coming to our table and asked if we are ready to pay or need anything else. After bad experience and bad service bill was automatically charged 18 or 20% gratuity which is unacceptable. We should decide what % gratuity we should give after horrible service. Place is small and not much space but food is good. They need more serving people rather having only one for whole restaurant. Big advice donāt change your order to family plater get individual plates. If you donāt complain waiter with ponytail will be very friendly otherwise he will not bother to come near your table because he he knows he is still getting...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFood was amazing, thatās not the issue also service was great as well, thatās also not the issue. The issue is that Iām allergic to walnuts and clearly informed the owner (Mustafa) when I first walked in, to inquire about the chocolate baklava. I was making sure they had it in stock & then asked if it had walnuts and he said yes. I said Iām allergic to walnuts so never mind. If youāre serving something to my table I should be aware which food has walnuts. After I enjoyed my meal I had a terrible reaction and asked the waiter if any of my food had walnuts. Turns out the green sauce that is served at every table has walnuts. Iāve been to many Afghan restaurants and having walnuts in this sauce is rare and worth mentioning, ESPECIALLY since I already mentioned my allergy. I had to rush out the restaurant as calm as possible due to my reaction. I own 2 restaurants myself and as an owner I know well that if Iām aware my customer told me about their allergies, I would inform them right away if any other food may contain that same ingredient. Notably, a condiment on every table that is not normally known to have this ingredient.
Chef and server informed the owner and I walked out without even an apology. Now idc about even apology but at least man up to let me know you messed up. I will not be returning. Heads up to anyone who has a walnut allergy or any...
