Hummus Hut — Restaurant in Brighton

I'm no expert on this type of food. We got the meat dolmas, smothered fries, falafel wrap with house hummus, chicken shawarma combo with Turkish hummus, and a ma'amoul cookie for $50. Overall, everything was okay to good except the shawarma, which was brutally dry. The pita bread and fries were the notable high points.

I gave the service and atmosphere a 3 because they met expectations. They got the order right and it was ready when I got there.

Dolmas: Seemed fresh. Very acidic. Pita: Unexpectedly fresh and chewy. Fries: Crispy-chewy and the toppings were tasty. Turkish hummus: I didn't care for the topping, but I've never had Turkish hummus before, so it could have been spot on. I would get a different variety next time. Cookie: Pre-packaged. We ordered our food for delivery. We got the wrong order, so we are assuming another family is also surprised at their delivery from you. We've tried to call, but can't leave a message because your voicemail is full. So we messaged you through Facebook, but haven't received a reply yet. We called our DoorDash driver, who was in Hartland at the time (we are in downtown Howell), and she said she'd try to make it back to see what went wrong and to try to get us the correct food, but since you close at 8 p.m. and it is currently 7:30 p.m., it feels hopeless. If you are looking to have good Mediterranean food don’t come here. I’m sorry I don’t like to bash any restaurant but from the reviews I read I was expecting a lot better. I got the chicken shawarma wrap with salad for my girl and a shawarma plate for me. The shawarma was dry and flavorless. It looked like he cooked the chicken and then just threw seasoning on after it was cooked. No flavor on the rice either. Also the garlic paste was more of a liquid and again barely tasted like garlic and had little to no flavor. I wish you guys the best but we will not be coming back to try...
