Poké Fresh — Restaurant in Genoa Charter Township

I'm only giving this place 4 stars for reasons other than the food. I actually thought the quality of the ingredients was very good!

As another reviewer said, the place is a little hard to spot. But that's not really my issue.

1.) I didn't care for how cold it was inside. I never took my coat off.

2.) The seating is one large communal high top table with metal stools. There are no booths or regular tables and chairs.

3.) The tipping system: There's a tip jar before the register AND a prompt to tip after your credit card gets swiped. It makes me wonder if they pay the staff at least minimum wage or if they are on servers' wages. It made me feel uncomfortable because I already snuck money into the jar before paying. Then I think the girl behind the counter is going to think I'm a cheapskate because I chose the lowest tipping option since I wasn't expecting to tip twice. But actually I don't think it should be an option at all. They're not bringing my order to me. It's strictly counter service. If you go to Five Guys there's only the tip jar, as far as I remember. Anyway, something about the emphasis on tipping in this type of place rubbed me the wrong way.

4.) Pepsi products. Sorry but I hate Pepsi, and I think Coke goes better with pretty much everything. This one is just my preference.

Again, the food was great. If this was some kind of drive through option I'd likely get that anytime I'm passing through this area and skip the awkward...

I don't like writing reviews without having pictures of the food, but unfortunately I couldn't wait long enough and just devoured the delicious 😋 bowl. The restaurant is located in an unusual place and I'm not sure how much traffic they will get here, but the food is healthy, simple, and delicious. I've purchased the built your own bowl and I've super pleased with the amount of toppings offered. The brown rice, toppings, dressings, are fresh, flavorful, and yummy. I love that you can order online and pick up, my orders have always been correct. The staff is courteous and the restaurant is clean. The price is on point, affordable.The bowls are made from compostable material which they recycle. If your looking for healthy, simple food, look no more,...

I think Poke fresh is a great concept. I enjoyed the food. I gave it only a 3 star because I got a bad allergic reaction from food/sauce. I had asked the staff about the sauces since it was my first time there. I told them I could have any sauce as long as it didnt have sesame seeds or oils in it...they did eliminate 2 right away. They suggested the spicy mayo because it is their most popular. Turns out it does have sesame seeds or oils in it. As a suggestion, please have all staff members knowledgeable and better yet have all staff make sauces so they know what is in them. Thanks in advance for anyone like me that enjoys your food but is allergic to sesame...
