My daughter and son-in-law took me here for Father's Day, for a late lunch. The restaurant itself is very nice looking, very clean and well laid out. Not huge, but a good size. They stayed busy the whole time we were there, obviously popular. The food was all great. I'm pretty comfortable with Mediterranean food, and was looking forward to trying a few things. Going over the menu in advance of going had me excited and still difficult to decide what to get because there are so many good looking options. We were started with a basket of hot freshly made mini pitas with a side of garlic spread. the bread was amazing, and if the spread wasn't homemade i'd be surprised. We then started our order with appetizers, the combo starter with hummus, baba ganoush, and taboulli. All three were great, all very fresh. We also ordered the falafel plate, cause really I judge any Mediterranean place by their falafels. Well, let me just say, I could make a meal of their falafels! They were perfect, flavorful, not crumbly or dry, and fresh. You could tell they came right out of the oil. I've probably had bigger, but hard to say I've had much better. I had the moussaka (vegetarian) with grilled veggies and a fattoush salad. The "side salad" was a very good size, I was pleasantly surprised cause fattoush is my favorite salad and I enjoyed every bite. The moussaka was very good, excellent flavor, and generous portions. The grilled veggies were sliced huge! But were still well cooked. My daughter and husband shared the shawarma combo platter with fries and a bowl of lamb chili. The chili was very good, both were impressed by the flavor. The shawarma platter was huge, with the fries nice and crisp. The meat was well flavored and not a bit dry. Honestly, as soon as the plates arrived, we knew we wouldn't be able to finish it all after the appetizers and bread. We got boxes for everything, and ordered a dessert Omo Ali to go, and also got a couple pieces of baklava as a Father's Day freebie. We ate the desserts later, both very good. We warmed up the Omo Ali as instructed. To finish out the night, (remember we went for lunch), we had the leftovers for dinner and we did not go hungry!
My daughter is looking forward to doing some carryout in the future, and we all hope to go back to try out their monthly buffet. I'm also looking forward to try out their Farmington location which is lot closer to my house than the 30 minute drive to Brighton. (But it was...
Read moreReally bad experience at this restaurant. Placed an order over the phone (Chicken Tawook Dinner and Quart of Soup); simple, I thought.
I was told 20-25 mins. I show up about a half hour later and when I check in with the host stand, they tell me that they accidentally gave my food to someone else and that they will need me to wait while they remake my order, but don't worry they are going to "take care of me".
I had already paid at this point, so I was expecting a refund full or at least partial. The manager instead says he will take a meager 10% off and can offer some baklava. About 10 minutes goes by and he comes back out and gives me my food. I take it and ask for the discount that he had offered. He says "well I still got your food out pretty fast, so no need for a discount". I tried to insist on him honoring his previous offer, but he became very unprofessional and agitated, so I just left.
In my experience, if the manager of your establishment is so incompetent that he gives your order away to the wrong person, and you have to wait 10 minutes, when you show up (on-time), then that manager should be responsible for some sort of concession to that customer. In my opinion, that is just called good customer service especially when the manager is completely at fault. This manager obviously values the $40 dinner more than their customer satisfaction and return business, because I will never be back to this restaurant. As for the food, it was typical middle-eastern food. ...
Read moreDisappointed. The food quality is the same as that of a fast-food restaurant that advertises Mediterranean food. Vegetables straight from the bag, add some mix of spices from those cheap bulk version and that is it. The rice, not basmati, not long rice, not homemade, plain parboiled rice with some cheap spices, heated up and served to your plate. Chicken is served from the frozen bag and heated up with some cheap spices as well. The lentil soup does not taste like soup at all. They might have some base soup mix and added a packet of lentil soup flavor. The pasta, meh, straight from those microwaves and serve and add the tomato sauce packet. Service is terrible, and they took forever to return to take the order after sitting us. After a long waiting, we had to ask one of the servers walking by our table to please take our order. It might be ok for someone who is used to tasting flavors from synthetic food with spices added. For others who like to taste more like original homemade flavor, I recommend going somewhere elseânever going back thereâoverpriced venue for the low...
