I have to say that I used to love Santiagos. I used to recommend them to everyone. Well that has changed. Prices have gone up. Which, let's face it, is to be expected based in today's cost of products, but they went the extra mile. Not only did food go up but quantity has gone way down. They charge for chips and salsa and if you need extra they charge for that too. It came as a surprise the first time around because they don't bother telling you their practices changed. One of my favorite dishes was carnitas. This also came as an unpleasant surprise. There was hardly any meat on the plate. Trust me. Allot of empty space on the plate that is quite a bit more expensive. To top it off, the Chile that comes with it was a tiny little side dish. I mean like 2 tablespoons of it. Not even enough to have with your dinner. Dare not ask for more or you will be popped and extra charge. What really has me over the top is they are now not supplying straws with your drink. Really! The sign that I actually did see on my way in said it was in an effort to go more green. I am sorry but this looks like an effort to provide less service to the customer and more money in your pocket to not buy straws. Is this worth loosing customers over? The straws alone would have just irritated me and disappointed me for the lack of consideration of the customer. The price increases, portion decreases and measures taken to hurt the customer...yes I am not on board. Definitely thinking twice before going back and paying so much more for so much less in every area of customer service. Very disappointed in Saniago's lack of care towards their hard...
Read moreI previously left a five-star review for this Santiago’s, but unfortunately, I can’t justify keeping it up. The service has deteriorated significantly, and my last three visits have been incredibly disappointing.
First, the food quality has taken a dive. Each time, my burrito was almost entirely egg with barely any green chili, potatoes, or meat, and they forgot the cheese two out of the three times. For a place known for its burritos, that’s unacceptable.
Second, the service has been abysmal. Today, I waited seven minutes at the walk-up pick-up window, only to watch the staff prioritize orders for people inside. No one acknowledged me during that time, and when they finally came to help, I overheard one of the staff calling me a “fat gringo (“ayuda al gringo gordo”)” in Spanish, clearly assuming I didn’t understand. This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional but offensive and reprehensible.
While the man who ultimately helped me was polite, the overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth. To make matters worse, as I was writing this review in their parking lot, I watched another customer wait about five-six minutes at the walk-up window before giving up and going inside. If the window is going to be ignored, why even have it?
Santiago’s used to be a favorite of mine, but the consistent issues with service and food quality have made it clear this isn’t the same place it used to be.
I’ll heave to get my breakfast burrito fix at Bubba Chino’s moving forward. They take longer, but at least they’re kind and acknowledge...

Wanted to update my review since the opening of the new building.
So disappointed with the new building. We've been loyal customers since it first opened, visiting about once a week and were very excited for the opening of the new building. We were anticipating much more seating and perhaps a patio, looking at the outside. I don't know who designed it, but it is a big fail. The building itself is twice the size of the old one, but has the same amount of seating cramped into a horrible layout. Crowded together and closed off. No one knows whether to seat themselves or wait for staff. The service is much worse now and the prices have gone up. Tried takeout, and that wasn't any better. There is more room to wait for the takeout orders, but everyone seems to be confused. Sat and waited while everyone before and after me got their orders. Finally approached the counter again (along with another gentleman) and they had lost both of our orders. The only significant improvement made with the new building is that they now accept credit cards, something that should have been done long long ago. We've gone in a few times trying to keep an open mind and give it a chance. The food is still good, but quite frankly we are so put off by the new layout that we don't even want to go in anymore. So much...
