Lauer Krauts has been on my bucket list for years now ever since I saw Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives featuring this restaurant. Yes, I finally made it! The service was genuine and great with my party being checked on multiple times and even me being reminded to get my soda from the soda machine that I had forgot. As for the food, it was decent but it missed the mark for me. I ordered The Jack Lauer Kraut Burger and I was expecting so much more on the sauerkraut side of things. The bread was good and I had no complaints there, but the ground beef and cabbage seemed to overpower the insides of the kraut burger. Again, I was expecting so much more sauerkraut. I was expecting a little cheesiness or a tad bit of heat from the Jack cheese but that didn’t happen either. I wanted this to work so bad because I love sauerkraut but it just didn’t! On another note, the Broccoli Soup was amazing!!!!

TLDR: Great little burger spot that serves excellent handmade stuffed breads. Try the honey mustard! House turned restaurant. We have never heard of it but apparently its been on Diner's, Drive-in's, and Dives 3 times! Family owned business that serves simple yet delicious breads stuffed with meat, onion, cabbage, and Kraut. You can taste the love that the family has for their craft. You truly feel like a guest at someone's home. We got the original lauer-kraut burger, but they have a variety of different cheeses you can add on. My one gripe that I have is that the filling was a tad salty, but dont let that discourage you from trying this place out, it was fantastic! And dont forget the homemade honey mustard! I couldnt put it down. Highly highly recommend this little gem.

Being a native Nebraskan I grew up on Runza. I also come from a family who had a bakery that produced a “Bunza”. This reminds me of that iteration, only much better. I’m also reminded of the Runza of my youth, less moist and flavorful but somehow healthier and more authentic. Since I’m trying to avoid animal products I appreciate that Lauer Krauts doesn’t load in the ground beef. My former self wishes their were more beef. The crunch from the cabbage is very nice. You can tell they are from scratch. I won’t drive 20 minutes out of my way to come here again but if I’m any closer I’ll surely stop by.

If you come from a German heritage or exposure, this place beats all Krautburger joints on any block! Being raised in NoCO, I was a lucky girl when it came to enjoying this cuisine. Lauer Krauts stands the test of time and with an awesome story! It's owned by people who love this dish and have not faltered one bit in its quality, flavor, or presentation. It's incredibly tasty still after all these years. I no longer live in CO, but it is still "home," and when I am home, I make a point to drive an hour out of my way to stop here. I didn't need Guy Fieri to tell me this is the place for an awesome menu and authentic Krautburgers. They even still serve the old-school hot potato salad. Don't crinkle up your lip at hearing 'hot' potato salad. You have to try this dish. The service is beyond friendly, and the facility is so clean that you can smell the Lysol settling in the restrooms. They make you feel like you are a local friend, just stopping by to say hi and grab a basket of goodness for lunch or dinner. Heck, my family will even eat them leftover and cold for breakfast. Although, any leftovers from here are a quick thing of the past in our house, like a twenty dollar bill on the ground- it doesnt exist because someone snatches it up too quickly for you to witness it. I am having them ship me a package as soon as I return to my current residence in another state. Thank you, Lauer Krauts, for making a quick trip home even...

I was a big fan of this place. You could say, I loved their little buns. Until one day, when i was really excited for my food to come out, and i heard this DING. Moments later the lady brought my hot dogs. I asked about the ding, because I had this silly notion that maybe they used a microwave. Ha. Ha. Heh heh. "That was the microwave," she said. "Did these hot dogs come out of the microwave?" "Yeah", she said. Like it should have been obvious or something.

I got a refund. And i called back the next day to complain. Mostly because I was disgusted to think i had unknowingly eaten microwave food during my previous visits. The boss or manager or possibly owner couldn't care less. She acted like i was ridiculous for caring. Which makes me wonder if she served a microwave hot dog to Guy Fieri? "Shut the front door!"

This is worse than the lady who puts Velveeta Cheese in her Mac-N-Cheese. If I wanted a microwave hot dog, I could go to gas station.

Gross! It's disgusting to serve anything out of the microwave. It's worse than that not to disclose this to people.

How embarrassing...

Here's the deal. Some people complain that this place is only open till 4pm so you can't eat dinner, but honestly it's a lunch food. They don't serve full meals. it's technically a sandwich. why would you eat that for dinner? They don't serve fries, you can get chips.. but really all you get with the burger is a slice of pickle. It's great, It's a good portion for lunch.. if you feel that you need more than that, then you are over eating and you need to rethink your diet.

And yeah, it doesn't pack a whole lot of flavor in your mouth.. that's what the sauces are for! The Lauer kraut brand of sauce is delicious and compliments the burger very nicely. I really like the pepper jack Kraut Burger. once again, you've gotta have it with the sauce on it. I didn't try the brownie, but I will next time I go.

The staff and owners are super friendly and really accommodating. The place is clean.. small, but clean. It's a great place to have lunch and I am proud to support...
