No. 1 Chinese Kitchen — Restaurant in Brimfield Township

I ate at this restaurant this evening. I will start with the positives: restaurant appeared clean, great drink selection, fast service.

Negatives: food tasted at best like a 2 star meal. I got one of their specials (No. 1 something). It had fake crab that was the weirdest texture to eat, scallops that were as thin as a quarter, 3 small pieces of lobster, shrimp that was undercooked and a sauce that left a taste in your mouth similar to old horse dung. My wife got a meal, it tasted a bit better but the crab, shrimp, chicken was the same - bland and like chewing on rubber. The manager “lady” at the front was quite unfriendly and unapproachable. She sat on her phone and played games behind the counter. She had a younger guy working whom was a bit friendlier but incapable of saying you’re welcome when greeted with thank you. Customer service is a 0 star. Pricing is very steep at this restaurant, I’m guessing because of the lack of customers it receives.

I wouldn’t say I’m not going back because of the customer service, but it’s a good restaurant and quite frankly the food was terrible for the price. Honestly, go to Walmart across the way and get frozen Chinese, it would...

I've gone to this restaurant for lunch once or twice a month for the last six years. It was a nice family owned business, the price was fair and the food was decent. Covid prevented me from going over the past year but for perhaps twice. Something changed. The last time I ordered lo mein but the noodles were all chopped up into tiny pieces. Disappointing. I decided to try them again and specifically asked that they do not chop up the noodles and that I like 'em long. It's Cary out only so when I got to where I was going I discovered that they chopped it up into tiny pieces again. It was in addition very oily and the garlic was over powering. This place has gone from great to gawd awful. The prices have gone up at least 50% since the pandemic and the food is not worth it. do not order the tempura. it tasted and looked like an undercooked fish stick and that was both the shrimp AND the chicken. The chicken in the chicken with broccoli entree had a sour taste - not like sweet and sour but sour like it was chicken past its prime. We have gotten food from here for YEARS and it used to be a special treat but we will definitely not be going back again. Do not order here if you are entertaining guests you will be embarrassed and spend the rest of the night...
