My husband I walked in to a completely empty restaurant, 5:30 on May 6, 2022. A Friday evening. There were two young men not eating just sitting in the dining area- apparently socializing. No other customers were in the establishment. We could see employees working in the back. We waited approximately 8 minutes. At that point, an employee came walking from somewhere in the restaurant, looked at us, went through the door to go behind the counter. We assumed she was going to wait on us. She did not. She said absolutely nothing, retreated as the other employees were- to the inner sanctum of the kitchen area. My husband and I looked at each other and jokingly remarked that maybe we were invisible. We waited another 2 minutes and decided to find another restaurant who would welcome our business. The only communication we had with KFC this evening was a sign telling us the buffet was temporarily closed and another explaining that due to a chicken shortage one (if one were fortunate enough to order) could not make substitutions. I am now sitting in the Arby’s across the street. I just saw another man and woman go in KFC and leave pretty quickly. Read moreMy family has always loved KFC, but in the 7 times we have ATTEMPTED to eat at the West State Location this year, every single time we have been told it would be 45 minutes to an hour wait. It never mattered if we ordered ahead in the app, arrived at or after the pick up time from the online order, it was the same thing, another 45 minute wait. Every team member I've encountered on each of these visits were incredibly apathetic. It is amazing that you can't show up to the restaurant 4 hours before they close and get a simple family meal of the one thing they're known for selling. Of course, if you order in the app they're constantly pushing, you never know when or if you'll get your money back for the order they couldn't be bothered to fulfill. To top it off, we went up the interstate to the location at exit 5 in Bristol VA because our little ones were looking so forward to eating KFC, and I walked in the door and stood at the counter to see one employee on her cell phone in the drive thru and another on her cell phone further back into the kitchen. Read moreWas greeted by what I can only assume is the manager. Ordered ahead online 10 min prior to arriving at store. She informed me that they had not started my food yet. I realize I had made a mistake on the app, not requesting my sandwich as I like, so I try and get this ladies attention again to no avail. I finally see a lady making a sandwich and almost have to yell to get her attention to ask if that was mine and that I had made a mistake on my mobile order and how I would like the sandwich. BOTH ladies acted as if this was the end of the world when literally all that was needed was to grab another already pre-cooked piece of chicken out of a warmer and put it on a sandwich. The lady the proceeded to drench my sandwich in sauce which the 2 shared a laugh over, but to be honest, this store is usually very stingy with their sauce and it actually made the sandwich better. I then asked for a side of extra sauce that I've been given EVERY time I've asked without hesitation. The manager lady scowls and says it's usually extra then throws it in my bag.
