Portside Tavern is where you go for inspiration. If not the food, then the visuals. Around daily sunset time, the sun is directly in sight of the tavern's windows setting over the bay. The Portside has a set of curtains to block the blinding light, but the view and the experience are incredible. We went to Portside for an earlier dinner, around 5:00 to 5:30 PM, and promptly got a table. Cocktails were delicious and the food was served quickly. A real benefit to an early dinner! The Thai Veggie Wraps are gluten-free, and listed as that on the menu. Alongside a bunch of other gluten-free options, the veggie wraps stand out. The burgers were also delicious. They have gluten-free rolls that accommodate a decent sized beef patty. No report on the business' sustainability practices.

I took my mom to the area for a day trip to the coast and we stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant. I was impressed with the General Als chicken over jasmine rice paired with a mango cart beer, and my Mum loved her portside burger very much. The fries were the best, and the home made pickles were delicious. Heck, even the glass of water they give you was good. (Not like how most other restaurants' free water tastes like bad tap water..) We will definitely come back to Portside Tavern next time we're in the area! Thanks so much. And please praise your cooks- they not only cook the food perfectly, but the plating was beautiful as well. My poor quality phone camera does not do it justice!

Made reservations although we probably didn't need them. Service was quick. Ordered a fish and chips with extra tartar sauce. The fish and fries were good. It was everything else that made the meal unpleasant. First, the tartar sauce was liquid. Like they had some left over in a bottle, poured water in there and then poured it into a dipping cup. Truly was foul. The cole slaw had to be old. It was so gross. Then the pickles.. it was cucumbers that kissed vinegar for 10 min. I am thankful the main parts of the meal were good, but if you can't get the little things right, what's the point of having them on the plate to begin with? I wouldn't eat there again.

We are lucky to live in an area that has fantastic food and great eateries. That being said, my family and I just keep finding our way back to Portside. Keep in mind, when most people take the time to write a review it’s usually because they’re angry and (right or wrong) they want to vent. So for me to sit down and take time out of my day to write something extremely positive about a place, it has to be something special. Portside is something special. It’s pretty easy to have a great view if you have wonderful outdoor seating and you’re by the water and Portside has that in spades. Once you get inside however, you forget you’re even by the water because the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff is friendly and the bar is alive with tv’s or live music and has a terrific vibe. Depending on where you sit, the restaurant is family friendly and fun for friends and singles all at the same time. The menu changes just enough to keep you trying new things but the staples that you come to love are always there when you want the comfort of the usual. I keep trying to stump the kitchen but I’ve yet to have a meal that I didn’t love. When my kids come, they always make adjustments to the meals to keep them happy. If you have finicky kids you know just how huge this is and my wife and I appreciate it infinitely! The whole reason I took the time to write this review is because the heart and soul of this place are Richie and his wife Caroline, who are so incredibly accommodating that sometimes I feel like we’re getting special treatment and it’s not fair to everyone else, until you look around and realize that they are doing that with everyone. That seems massively exhausting to me but they do it and they seem so happy doing it. Thats what I want from my small town establishment's, and while we get it from most places in good doses, we get it every time we step into Portside and it makes it hard to choose another spot. We don’t get out as often as we like, so when we get the chance, we want it to be special and because of Richie and Caroline and the loving atmosphere they’ve cooked up, it always is. If you haven’t been to Portside and you haven’t gotten the jist of my review, you should go here and see for yourself what the art form of being fed well and treated well is all about. PS- my wife flips out over their home...

First visit “prior C19” sat bar side with near by locals and the bartender just knew best; and my seat was viewable from Bristol harbors ocean and Bristol’s Independence Park. The Fire place was a perfect spark I needed to have that overall tavern experience along with a chilled “captains daughter” *ordered their French Onion Soup. My eye color bursted when I tasted that rendered bone and “babied....onions” I verbally told myself “now that’s some serious stuff” Second visit “During the soft opening back into society” haha ordered the port side salad. Now I don’t want to ruin this for you but all I have to say is that (((sometimes))) our mistakes can make the best of things in the end. Check it out because you will not be disappointed but yet curiously fascinated with the combo of faaalavors selected mind you I sat outdoors on their custom branded tables with a chilled glass of “devils purse “ “LOVE” goes perfect with everything. Third Visit : this time I was sitting on their side stoned patio with enough shade and sun combined. Ordered again “Devils Purse” then started out with their BBQ pulled pork (not telling you what it is really) “finger dish” I sat back and put my hand over my mouth as if the flavor was going to leave me . I didn’t want that! Happening. lOl it has a Galaxy of flavors that is just a “YES” factor. No more said. So thennn I ended up getting a little frisky and felt the need to try their steak Frits .... I took that home . I wanted to call the restaurant but then I was thinking of do this instead “ I used bad words to describe this dish” it seemed like it was too perfect. Even tho I like my meat on a leash? W.e the stuffs magic guys”seriously”. Sooooooo? 4th time. I sat outside “LoVE” ordered the BRÉ I have a video of it because I want my grand children’s children to see what “SMART” is lol. Super healthy super filled with energy and proteins and it was very motivational. so “Thank YOu” oh oops! Devils purse don’t forget. Then I ordered to take home “the French Dip” It hit my soul made me feel warm and cozy. .... I walked down to independence park to catch the sunset after “Hot pink”. Can you not picture this? Thank...

Portside Tavern in Bristol, Rhode Island, offers a fantastic dining experience that combines great service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. I recently had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed.

First and foremost, the service at Portside Tavern was outstanding. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, ensuring that our dining experience was top-notch. They were prompt in taking our orders and were always available to address any questions or requests we had throughout the meal. Their warm and welcoming demeanor truly added to the overall enjoyment of our visit.

Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Portside Tavern offers a diverse range of options, but the standout dishes for me were the Tuna Burger and the Crabby Patty. The Tuna Burger was perfectly cooked, with a juicy and flavorful patty that was complemented by fresh toppings. The Crabby Patty, too, was a delight, with generous portions of succulent crab meat and a delicious combination of spices. Each bite was a true treat for the taste buds.

The drinks at Portside Tavern were equally impressive. They offer a wide selection of beverages, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. The cocktails we tried were expertly crafted and full of flavor. They perfectly complemented our meal and added an extra layer of enjoyment to the overall experience.

In terms of ambiance, Portside Tavern strikes the right balance between casual and upscale. The decor is tastefully done, creating a comfortable and inviting environment. The pricing is reasonable, considering the quality of the food and service provided. Additionally, the availability of plenty of street parking makes it convenient for diners.

In conclusion, Portside Tavern in Bristol, Rhode Island, exceeded my expectations in every aspect. From the exceptional service to the mouthwatering food and delightful drinks, this restaurant offers an all-around excellent dining experience. Whether you're looking for a satisfying lunch or a memorable dinner, Portside Tavern is definitely...
