Quite simply, this place is a gem. My family, friends, and I have enjoyed this local treasure since the '80s. I had heard the place had come under new management and i stopped going in 2013 after moving from the area. I was in the Brockton area so i popped in only to discover that it had not changed hands at all - it is still very much in the apt and able hands of the Puliti family. Awesome! It was cool to learn this. I just love a good legacy. As i strode about, checking out the inventory, i was pleased by the vast selection. The lasagna was great as were the meatballs. I will most definitely be popping in when in the area. Fair prices .. Vast selection of food items .. Great food .. Great staff.
UPDATE: Though i will not darken this place's doorway again due to an incredibly rude incident (which could have been wholly avoided if the young man would have just listened instead of completely ignoring me initially then immaturely and deliberately talked over my medical explanation regarding the donning of gloves), i will remove only 1 star from my once 5 star rating. After decades of my family loyally frequenting this establishment, after driving nearly 30 miles each week to obtain foods which my family shared at our tables for decades, this unsavory incident prompted me to check out another establishment and, quite simply, i found this Plainville gem (amazing sauce, to-die-for lasagna - you will not find better south of Hanover Street or north of Federal Hill- wonderful parms, killer subs, and a genuinely courteous and kind) to be far superior and i have the ignorant young man to thank. In contrast, this Plainville establishment is playing Chess to International's tiddlywinks in terms of prep and customer service. So, thank you, petty, immature young man. I thank you, and to express my gratitude; you have rendered a weekly 30 mile drive unnecessary. i will retract only 1 star because you have...
ย ย ย Read moreI have been shopping at the awesome place for at least 30 years. This is a family restraunt and they are extremely helpful and friendly. Since Covid-19 began as soon as you enter the store there is hand sanitizer and gloves to put on. Masks are required. The luncheon specials are awesome. The deli meats are delicious. The potato and macaroni salads are the best I have ever tasted. If you want to impress dinner guests or spoil your family the pork roast and beef are so wonderful. The pasta is imported from Italy. Great selection of cheeses. You certainly can satisfy your sweet tooth with mouth watering deserts. Gift baskets are also available. I always feel confident that whatever I purchase from here will be fresh and delicious. As I am writing this the chicken parmesan we are having for dinner was made using chicken cutlets from here. Recently I added sweet sausages also bought here to my sauce my son was delighted with them and the extremely fresh...
ย ย ย Read moreI want to love this place but keep finding it to be all over the place when it comes to service, selection, and quality. While some of their deli items are - sometimes - awesome, other times they just fall completely short. Recently I had a Caprese sub from them and it was mediocre at best. The bread was borderline stale, the tomato wasn't ripe (in the midst of tomato season I might add) and it was incredibly bland. But other times, I find myself loving their artichoke stems or whatever else I pick-up. It's all over the place. Service is mostly friendly and their prices are great but it pales in comparison to other delis across the greater Boston area which is a shame. They have an extensive selection of products too which is neat: all kinds of sausages, cheeses, cookies, and pantry staples, as well as...
